Buyers beware. After 10 months of riding, the wheel locked up. Turning the bike upside down no longer disables the mechanism, so the wheel is not removed yet. As another reviewer noted, despite stating on their website that the product comes with a lifetime warranty, there is no customer service. They will never respond to your requests, so the value of this guarantee is zero.

I bought two of these for a couple of bikes I own and neither of them have an updated design. That means no double bolt! The old design has a single bolt meaning a thief could just cut off one side of this lock and take possession of your bike. The product page mentions this double bolt design multiple times, but you won't get a much sturdier design. Very annoying and misleading.

I have three Kryptonite locks, all work great but the customer service is terrible! I lost the key and sent two emails to them through their website, I replied twice to one of the emails, no reply other than a generic reply saying it would take me 15 business days to get back to you , then they give you a tag number. They just don't respond and so I'll have to consider other locks in the future.

Great lock, great price and the Kryptonite name is usually enough to keep the average bike thief at bay. I have a Carbon Comp Trek 2300 that I converted to an e-bike. I live in San Francisco so my bike is in high demand. However, I use 2 Kryptonite U-locks to secure my bike. 1 for front wheel and motor hub -> frame and 2nd from frame to post/carrier. I've been using this system for a few years now and it's great. I didn't find any use for the axle lock because it only fits on the front wheel
