🔑 Kwikset 94002-852 Tylo Keyed Entry Knob with Smartkey Security - Satin Nickel (New Packaging for Improved SEO) Review

I replaced a worn out lock of the same brand. This one basically fit in the space of the old one, it just needed a little tweaking. I find the handle to be too small although it doesn't move as smoothly as I would like. It still works and closes well for my back door.

Easy to install and connect with current dongle (have not used the dongles included in the kit except as per the instructions). I take photos so I had to buy a set that was exactly the same as the old set that had gone bad. Looks good and has been working great for a few months.

I have installed dozens of locks but this one tries to be easy which it is not. The twist instead of the design is terrible. And after 30 minutes of fighting I got it, but then the lock wouldn't turn. I took it off, cleaned and oiled the old one, and put it back on 30 seconds later. I will never buy this crap again.

I bought this lock to replace a broken handle and lock. When it was assembled you couldn't even lock the door and everything seemed cheaper than the old padlock. I tried several times to get this lock working and finally decided to just use the latch assembly from this unit and all my other old door hardware. It worked well and came together easily as only the latch assembly on the old TV was broken. The door has been repaired but most of the handle ends up in the trash.

I bought this doorknob for my new home. However, it looks and feels much smaller than my other doorknobs. It's like for a child's room or a youth door. I also noticed that Kwikset uses cheaper components compared to some other door locks. Even the round diameter of the handle cover that fits the door is smaller than my previous brand.
