Quality, well-made product.

(old versus new picture) Before the exchange, the car jumped uncontrollably all over the road, I felt like I was in a death trap. People also began to move on the circular ramps. After the replacement, the car is now completely predictable and stable both in curves and on railroad tracks. Feel like a new car. Very high quality product, I've been a big fan of KYB products for a long time. They do not disappoint and do not live up to expectations! Highly recommended! 👍👌

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Quality

I have taken advice from others to install 2004 era struts on my 2005 thru 2009 Outback, but the spring seat is about 1/4 inch smaller in diameter and I didn't like the idea The springs barely stay above the edge of the seat. Also, the distance from the seat to the top nut was about an inch shorter than the stock, meaning the springs would be overcompressed and decrease the sag distance. Revain allows me to return unused items which is generous and the main reason I buy auto parts here, first…

for wrong car otherwise good product

I am 99% sure I received Legacy struts and not Legacy Outback struts. Almost everything is the same, but the distance from the lower mounting bolt to the lower spring seat is shorter on the Legacy than on my 2004 Leg Outback by about the same distance. I even tried to blame the old tired factory springs, the new ones didn't change anything. On the other hand, after 2 years and about 35,000 miles, they're still working, so I'm going to fix that by installing some saggy spacers back-to-back, even

Exact factory replacement for my Subaru Outback

This was an exact OEM replacement for the rear shock on my 2000 Subaru Outback. The factory original KYB shocks that I removed have done nearly 200,000 miles and lost most of their damping ability. These new ones have made a noticeable difference in driving and I am very happy with them. I'm always happy when I can find and install the perfect factory genuine part in my cars. Please note that the kit does not include anything other than a bare shock and top nut. I rearranged my original springs

Great fit for the 2005 Outback!

Like many other reviewers here I bought these for my 2005 Subaru Outback. They definitely have higher damping than stock shocks. Although they are much stiffer than stockers, I wouldn't describe the handling as harsh, just very controlled and serious. It should be noted that they are about a half inch shorter than the stock 2005 shocks. Don't worry, that's not a problem at all. As far as I can tell, the travel range is within the acceptable limits of the shock, so you don't have to worry about…

Very cost effective major upgrade for 05-09 Outbacks.

To add to the chorus, this is just a fantastic upgrade of the 2005-2009 Outback. I just removed a set of (admittedly worn out) KYB stays from my 05 Outback 3.0R and replaced them with these 03-04 spec units and the difference is day and night. The rear of my car went from shaky and fuzzy to hard and planted in just over an hour's work. For do-it-yourselfers: after loosening the top two nuts (under the carpet in the car just behind the rear seats) and removing the nut from the bottom strut bolt,

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Some difficulties
