I wish I could love them

I would give them 5 stars but I didn't choose too much because I cut food for dinner and the whole tip of the knife broke off. Normally used and not heavily pressed. It literally burst when cutting celery. My mum has these and I was so blown away by their sharpness that I had to buy them as a Christmas present and now I've lost the whole knife.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Wife Loves Them: Boxed Knife Sets

Highly Recommended. We have several different brands of ceramic knives (Kitchenaid, Yoshi Blade) and they are by far the best. The handles are slightly larger for better grip and blade control. They cut all types of fruit and vegetables with ease, including harder vegetables such as carrots and beets. I wouldn't use them for boning, the blades aren't designed to bend and break when twisted.

Not the Kyocera quality you expect!

I've been using Kyocera ceramic knives since 2006 and I've never had a single chip in the center of the blade like this 4.5" (that many have written about here). Even worse, I have just over 2 months either they are fakes or the quality of the kyocera has really gone down I am very satisfied with the kyocera ceramic knives that I have used over the years.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • I have doubts

Simple chips. :( - Kitchen & Dining

We used to like these knives because they are so smooth and sharp, but the last two sets seem to be defective. They cracked while cutting food. Very strange. The blade feels too thin and hates cutting some things. My last one broke in 3 places while slicing the bread. We missed the return date by 2 weeks so we are throwing it away. The last one broke after 1 week. Our old one are still good just a little weaker Find another great knife.

  • Excellent overall

Excellent knives in kitchen and dining room

My wife bought her first Kyocera ceramic knife in 2016 with a blade size of 5.5 inch and she loves it. We only use this Kyocera knife for everything in the kitchen. The knife stays sharp for almost 3 years and is very durable. However, after the New Year, her knife accidentally broke on a granite countertop, so we have to buy this knife again. We were originally looking for a single 5.5 inch knife until we found this set of three knives. She is a happy woman again since we received this…

Love these knives

These knives stay sharp, they do a great job on anything but frozen objects or bones. They break if someone tries to cut through the bone or go through something hard like frozen dough. I have several stainless steel knives that need to be sharpened annually. Kyocera knives can take much longer between sharpenings. I also like that they can be washed in the dishwasher without damaging them. The three sizes included in this set are the sizes I use most in the kitchen. These are very high quality

Great first month! Then. Disappointment.

incredibly sharp knives! I was really impressed by how spicy they are. Before making this purchase I was dying to buy a ceramic knife and did a little research. I bought this set with the recommended Kyocera sharpener. They lost the "feel of cutting" within 2 months and never again achieved the same results that I can achieve with a metal knife, whetstone and stone. Now it's just a regular lasagna knife, brownies, and a watermelon. If you're into knives, prepare for a big disappointment. The…

SHARP + DURABLE best knife sets

I had a Kyocera knife for almost 8 years before it broke! I ordered a 3-piece set (black handle + black blade) as a replacement. VERY SATISFIED. I HAVE NO KNIVES BUT THESE! Tips to avoid chipping: DO NOT store or dry on the end/point of a knife. I clean my knife immediately after use, hand dry it immediately with a towel, and keep the knife on a rubber pad in my desk drawer to keep it from slipping and rattling. I use bamboo cutting boards with these knives. I only use these knives for…
