Leveling ladders certainly save lives. What I used to do to level the stairs didn't meet OSHA standards, let's just say. I have three stair leveling systems and this is by far the best and easiest to use. My other two require you to bend down and use your hands to adjust the stretch you want. The Levelok system allows you to keep both hands on the ladder while using your leg to extend the leg you need to extend. To pull back, simply use your foot to let go of your foot.
