Great once I figured out the best way to attach them.

Post ok; the trunk seems much lighter. Suggested course of action: Support the tailgate with a 2x6 wheel, find a bar to remove the old rack (some are much better than others), the tailgate is easier to start with. All problems were on my conscience.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Very easy to install.

Installation was very easy but make sure you have something that can hold the tailgate while you work each side. This is a heavy door and one won't hold it up while you make another. They do have a spring, but they shouldn't hurt, although I open them anyway and lower them myself, just in case. .

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not bad

They fit great and are easy to install. The pressure on them is too great. Now it is difficult to close the back door and you should be careful when opening it. It comes with great power and fast. It's easy to get slapped in the face or knock something out of your hands.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some issues

Installed on a 2002 Ford Explorer

Firstly I would like to say that the price is much cheaper than the local auto parts store, secondly if you decide to do it yourself there is a great video on YouTube on how to do it with relatively serious effort. One thing I really want to mention is the power these new props are extremely high! You have to hold the tailgate up slowly or it will slam hard and possibly break the end of the plastic support. Remember this can happen!

Pros
  • Free to learn
Cons
  • Can't remember

Cheaper than local stores with better fit and performance.

Looks, fits and performs like an OEM. Much better price and performance than the pair I got from Advanced Auto Parts. Paid $80 there and they didn't have enough elevator to open the back gate. They could only keep it open after I picked it up. Took them back and replaced with these that worked much better and at a fraction of the cost. Now I barely have to lift and the racks do the rest. This gate is very heavy so it was a huge relief.

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Too strong for jack legs

Installed on my 2003 Ford Explorer, in short they are much stronger than they should be. I left them as a secondary vehicle and I don't need them to be perfect but I can't get the back gate to open on its own as the jambs push so hard the gate bounces at the top. vibrate, which worries me they'll break something. Therefore, the gate must be kept all the way up to avoid possible damage. I'm not sure if they accidentally sent me the wrong ones, but in my experience they are too powerful for the…
