The best chicken toy! best in Birds

This simple distraction for our five Rhode Island Reds makes the long winters in the Colorado mountains more bearable for them and us (they are happier and therefore calmer). I recommend two packs so even less dominant girls have a chance to have fun. We've used the two we have almost every day for four months with no problems; however, if I stuff or scratch them with mealworms, they can stick their beaks in the seam and release the treats instantly. They "play" with the balls until they're…

Works to keep the chickens quieter until empty.

At first my ladies didn't know what to do with it. and when she rolled a little and the worms fell out, they all made a chicken mormyshka! Although my ladies are fairly tame, while still being runaway chicks, they are braver than most. I think this will scare the semi-feral hens and they might not use it at all. Mine recoiled after about 5 minutes to get the worms out. I really had to seal the hole on each side because they emptied it quickly when all 4 holes were open and 4 ladies kicked it…

So much fun! for toys

My girls love this ball! They figured out how to play with it the first day I released it for them. It keeps them silent for about half an hour to an hour while they roll it and collect mealworms. About the size of an adult's fist, this ball is made of hard plastic (impervious to chicken attacks!). It has a thick elastic band inside that connects the two halves. You take it apart, put mealworms in it, and then close it again. Smelly work, but very easy. The only thing I did was tape on one end.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Design error: Birds

I bought two of these little treat balls for my chickens to keep them busy during the winter. I really like the design which consists of two half domes held together with a thick elastic thread in the middle. To use, simply spread the ball in half, scoop up some scratches and the elastic band will help keep the ball closed. The chickens will then kick or peck at it and a small scratch will fall from either end as shown in the picture. The reason for only 3 stars instead of 5 is because my hens…

With this ball was a ball!

My chickens loved it and got it right away! I have 10 girls all different races. The biggest problem was that the top birds got all the treats and the lower tier girls got nothing, so I'll order a few more. The ball separates in the middle so I just scooped scratch seed into the bag and closed the ball with both halves filled. (Then I thought it might actually be too crowded to empty while skating, so I shook it a bit.) A little later I found the ball empty and in the corner. I refilled it and…

DO NOT BUY unless it is less than $1 = how much they cost‼️

Super thin and cheap cheap cheap‼️ I should have listened to other honest reviews😞🙁 Our birds are not even adult chickens and all that they have you have to step on it and it opens; defeating the whole purpose of employing them! I bought two of these POS terminals, so I tried weaving two rubber bands around the outside of one of them to see if that would fix the "hell in the box" reality they open into , when a 1 pound chicken bumps into them. or roll around, stone by stone, the rubber bands…
