Improved design for mailbox alarm device

This alarm works very well and is much better than other alarm devices with a part that only detects movement. This design uses a two piece approach with a main body and a separate magnet. As soon as the magnet is removed, a sensor in the main body detects this and sends a signal to the receiver's alarm box. In my experience with other types of notification devices that use a piece and trigger motion, there is room for error depending on how long the mailbox door is left open. With this design,

Poor performance due to shielding in metal mailbox Terrible range

This product is very disappointing. The magnet is so weak that it's difficult to get it close enough to the box for it to work. In addition, the metal box acts like a Faraday cage and shields the signal, greatly reducing the range. To make matters worse, the postal vehicle also acts as a protective shield in front of the box. The transmitter needs to be outside the box to work properly, or at least an external antenna. I'll probably use a remote switch and mount the transmitter outside under…

Intermittent - Wall Mounted Mailboxes

I was hoping this would allow me to keep checking my mailbox when mail was late, but it didn't work. I tested it before installing it in my mailbox and it worked great. Then I installed it in a mailbox and it still worked fine, then Mail came in and it didn't work. It seems that this device does not like the cold, it works better in the heat. I brought it back indoors and it worked again but I found it very intermittent and only worked half the time even when I was indoors with the transmitter…

Works well. most of the time

installed on a metal mailbox 220 meters from the nearest point of our house. There are several trees between him and us. The alarm works well most of the time, but there are times when either the postman barely opens the mailbox to put the mail in, or his truck somehow reflects the signal (the mailbox is on the side of the house, the mail truck is on ). the other side of the mailbox), so it doesn't work. However, when I go outside to see if the mail has arrived, my opening of the mailbox is…

I wanted to like it, but.

I read other conflicting reviews before purchasing but decided to give it a try. I've tested this in several ways: 1) Put the receiver where I want to use it, then go to my mailbox and have someone in the house on the phone tell me if the unit will beep when it should . When there was only the wall of my house between me and the receiver, at a distance of about 70 meters, the device stopped beeping when I changed the sensor state. I needed another 75-100ft of range for my use. 2) After…

I wanted it to work so badly. but it wouldn't be in our metal mailbox.

Our mailbox is 700 feet from our house, there are trees between us too. This alarm went so far every time. BUT NOT IN OUR METAL MAILBOX. The husband spent about 3 hours, went there 4 times, trying to accommodate in different ways. It would work like a charm once taken out of the mailbox. If it were waterproof we could build something to make it work. It seems others here are making it work in their metal boxes, maybe their houses aren't as far away as ours, with trees in between. but again…
