Same price less? Bigger coil?

I don't usually complain about MakerBot as I feel they have put together one of the best 3D printers out there. but. Not being able to buy an old 1kg roll of true white PLA I decided to try the 2lb (900g) version. It's still good PLA, no complaints, and a new roll seems better to keep the PLA from sticking together. However, keeping the price the same and losing 100 grams of plastic is a little insulting. Then my concern is that the new reels are bigger and won't fit the right side of the spool

So after many failed attempts I finally started getting good prints with this filament.1. I rewound the entire reel to improve winding. It is badly wound on the spool.2. I had to use a heated dry box to "prepare" this filament for use.3. I usually use a glass bed that never needs help to glue the thread. I had to coat my glass print bed with hairspray to get it to stick properly (Garnier Hair Care Fructis Style Volume Anti-Humidity Hairspray)4. I set the extruder temperature to 230 degrees…

I've printed a few items on a raft and this filament has worked fine, but when I wanted to lower the cost of my prints by making hem or skirt this filament failed every time. At first I thought it was my printer, I spent hours watching YouTube. Tutorials on calibrating 3D printers, adjusting the print quality optimally for a good print, extruding and heating the build plate. None of these…
