As mentioned in other comments, pads are actually not.

As mentioned in other comments, pads don't work very well and don't last long. But we use it to transport 4 kayaks on the roof of a Honda Odyssey so we can't use pads anyway.

Great way to move kayaks and still be able to park your rav

Great for my kayaks! I chose this as it works great with multiple kayaks. It also folds up, meaning you can take off the kayaks, put your hands down, and still have the RAV clearing the garage doors. So far they have proven themselves very well and very safely. If you have a car with a rear antenna or whatever, I suggest you center these off center so they are off center when folded. I recommend this if you want to be able to move kayaks in a tall vehicle and still be able to park in your…

Working but not perfect

Pros: Holds 2 or more kayaks on one vehicle Folds away when not in use Straps don't hold tension well. Should be replaced with ratchet straps. Cannot be used to hold kayaks in a horizontal position, only on their side. Doesn't have much tension on my oval crossbars. Best suited for square rails. The straps pass through slots that limit the use of the straps to 1 inch wide webbing and leave no room for twisting. Note. Wrap the strap around the X-bar a couple of times before tightening, otherwise

too small for actual adult kayaks

This foldable two kayak rack looks and sounds great but is too small for a full size kayak. This may work for very small white water kayaks but not for sea or ocean going boats. Surprisingly, this seller charges a 50% restocking fee once it's "spent". Your definition of used seems to be "open". The only way to make sure it doesn't work is to install it. Then try to realize that it won't work, so you'll have to uninstall and repack it. Yes, that's the downside of online shopping, but that's why…

Makes adventure easy

The Malone Stax Pro2 kayak holder is amazing! They fit my Rhino Rack Stealth crossbars which are 3 1/8" thick, perfect for the slightly larger bars. They're quick and easy to install. The pads look like they're about to tear where they flex, to fit on handlebars but with kayaks attached to them they won't go anywhere even if they snap. Belts are great! Behind the metal buckles is a leather strip to protect the kayak from metal rubbing. This set includes 4 red slings for Stax, Kayaks and…

2 kayaks on factory crossbars 2011 Subaru Outback

Great job. I wasn't sure what to expect as it's difficult to get direct answers on factory crossbar weights. I have a 2011 Subaru Outback with a factory roof rack and cross bars. I have used this product to haul Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T (75lb) and Emotion Tide (10ft 3in, 50lb) boats on vacation. INSIDE the kayaks I carried 4 rods, 4 paddles, 4 PFDs and my tackle box. When I placed the kayaks on the car I simply turned them over so the taxis were facing each other and not worried about…
