Press the Mute DOWN button to unmute the microphone. Works great on my Windows 10 after setting +30dB in the microphone settings.

Connectland Gooseneck Desktop Stereo Mic with Stand Recording Online Chat Notebook Desktop PC CL-ME-606 I couldn't get any sound out at first. I moved it from the front to the back of my DIY tower PC and it was recognized but still no sound. First, the lock button on the base is PRESSED to turn on the MIC. There were no instructions explaining how the mute button works. I then set the microphone properties in Windows 10 settings to 100% volume, +30dB gain, and enabled noise cancellation andโ€ฆ

a buzzing sound coming from a person when speaking through the speakers. Voice capture at close range

Good value for money. You get what you pay for in this case. I tweaked and played with many settings to get the best performance. I only use it for video chatting on Windows. The biggest downside to this mic is that even with 20dB or 30dB mic gain and mic input around 80%, you don't have to be more than a foot away from the mic for it to pick up your voice clearly, or at all. The echo and buzz coming from other people is absolutely awful, though when the mic sensitivity is set above 80 and I'mโ€ฆ

Great if you can keep it close to you.

It works, it's really everything I've come to expect from a cheap microphone. Connected to a Xonar DG sound card. The sound is clear with virtually no distortion. There is no audible hiss, pops or hiss due to line noise and it doesn't pick up any ambient noise at all. The caveat here is that it's fairly small in volume. It's actually okay to be a foot or two away from you when speaking (mainly for gaming), but it's by no means a high-sensitivity mic. If you can't get it near you, you can lookโ€ฆ

Poor performance, loud/sticky switch

I bought this microphone to use with language learning apps. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well. It's physically well made, with an attractive base, a fairly long braided cable, and a foam mic windscreen. His leg is both flexible and pivots at the base, allowing for more flexibility (ha!) in his positioning. The base has a conveniently located on/off switch. It's good. The bad thing is that she's deaf as a pillar. It's so insensitive that even with my PC's mic gain set to 100 and I holdโ€ฆ
