Fantastic solution to a bad previous installation

The hardest part of removing the old shock absorbers as the so called professional would fit the old kit with the various nuts he had on hand. 10mm, 11mm, 1/2 inch And I forgot to install the upper bushing on the passenger side. But once these new shocks passed easily. And leveled the truck perfectly! Highly recommended for 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4.

Next best thing for Callahan Auto

Bought these for my front end after spending a lot of time reading and looking around and reading forum after forum about what is good and what isn't etc. You get what I mean think . Monroe does a good job of making a quality product and is quick to replace it if it is defective. I installed it on my 1997 Ford Explorer and it helped the front end a lot. It no longer falls over when you lean a little and that changes the world. I would definitely buy again.

Great replacement shocks

I bought these shocks to replace worn shocks on my 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4. The hardest part of the swap was removing the rusty nuts and bolts from the old shocks. After that, their installation is a breeze and comes with new mounting hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, rubber bushings). No additional drilling or modifications are required to fit these shock absorbers - they fit perfectly. The ride is smooth, although it still drives like a truck - which is to be expected. I am very glad that I…

Excellent shock absorbers for the price

Good shock absorbers so far. Installed on my 2003 Ford Ranger Edge 2wd with torsion bars (2" lift). My old shocks are definitely out of balance so the comparison is pretty biased, but the rebound is pretty balanced. At lower speeds (15-35 mph) the ride is a bit rough. At freeway speeds (45-65 mph) the shocks work very well and absorb small bumps quite well for a light truck suspension. If you're looking for premium feel for the average Joe's price point this is it, what you are looking for…

Significant improvement in handling

I installed these on my '98 Ford Explorer Sport and they made a great impression. They really tightened everything up and the truck drives great. I had the stock shocks on my 182,000 mile truck so it's safe to say they were pretty good. Now driving is much more fun. Remember it's a tough ride, but it's still a truck, so don't expect it to turn your truck into a luxury vehicle. If you're looking for a stable and well-controlled ride, these shocks are great. I believe they also restored the stock

Great price and easy installation.

I went to my local auto parts store and they told me these Monroe shocks cost twice as much. Absolutely unbelievable. By doing it myself I also saved 2 hours of work in the workshop. With the savings on the rear wheels (again, over half the price) plus my own labor, replacing all four dampers came to 1/3 the total cost if we had sent the car to the shop instead. These shocks are the rear kit I bought so I could disable the Air Ride system on our '98 Explorer. The rear shocks were installed…
