1999 Expedition xlt 4wd (rear shock absorbers)

Replaced old worn out shock absorbers with these. The rear no longer gives way when accelerating. It behaves better in curves and bumps. The landing height looks the same.

Upgraded Shocks for 1999 Ford Expedition

I installed these shocks on my '99 Expedition and they fit perfectly and work great! The main thing I like about these shocks is that they keep my rear end from falling off when I'm towing a boat. Very worth the price!

    Excellent difference in handling

Replacing old worn out air to coil shock absorbers, made on my 1998 Lincoln Navigator many years ago. Ride quality and handling have improved significantly. It has evolved from a drifting boat on the road to a big off-roader with sensible handling. Can't wait to tow the boat/camper this summer. 10/10 recommend!

    • Some faults

Super rear shock absorber for 2000 Ford Expedition. Adds extra stability and carrying capacity. This part number is for a conventional suspension with conventional coil springs and dampers. There is a different part number for vehicles with automatic leveling/airbags - it has a shorter range. Great shock absorbers, nice ride. I've used them on pickups and even Mercury Grand Marquis. Always loved them, the cars drove well.

Replaced the stock 196K shocks with these.

Provides good stability without a harsh ride. Raised the rear of my 2000 Ford Expedition a few inches with no added weight. On my car, the cup that the top end of the spring sits in interferes with the top mount of the lug frame and prevents the shock eyelet from aligning with the mount hole. I crushed the frame with a jack and hold it down with thick guardrail wire. This allowed the offending shell to drop a few inches to allow the mounting screw to pass through the top tab and bracket. Still happy with the best shock absorbers

Still happy. I installed them for several reasons. 1. During my 2001 expedition, my back sags a bit and 2. I'm towing a caravan in the summer. I was hoping the load matching section would help. I measured before and after installing the shocks (which my friend and I did) and they raised the rear 1/2 inch, doesn't sound good but looks better. I haven't shot the trailer yet, so I can't comment on that part yet, but I'm optimistic. I didn't notice a big difference in driving technique. As far asโ€ฆ
