This solves the fan speed problem.

Works as intended, fixes fan issues immediately. Good part, wish I needed it at all. Only recently installed, durability not tested yet. For Ford Motor Company - I have had this problem over the years on 3 different models of Ford vehicles, all of which failed due to circuit board leaks and internal corrosion. Obviously this is a design issue, there are hundreds if not thousands of similar posts on the internet car forums. Find the best way to craft these components. In fact, today's solid…

Ford Escape A/C Heater/Fan Speed Control

Fixed 2009 Ford Escape A/C Heater/Fan Speed Control. Fan speeds 1 and 2 no longer work, 3 and 4 continue to work. I went online and found that this is the solution. Not too difficult to install. Remove the three screws under the glove box hinge to remove the glove box. If you look at the top of the fan housing you will see the electrical connector. The plug is connected to this motor resistor. Remove the connector, you may have to pry it to loosen it. Two 8mm screws hold the motor resistor in…

Exactly what the doctor ordered (so far!)

Nothing beats a factory replacement part! In 20 minutes I was able to fix the missing number 1 and 2 fans on my Ford Escape 2102. Worth every penny. UPDATE 11/20/2020 - I wrote in last year's review that the factory replacement is worth every penny. I was wrong. Just ordered another one after the first one I replaced burned out (no settings #1 & 2). Factory parts aren't cheap so I was hoping for a permanent solution when I replaced them last year. I only served with him for about a year. These…

My co-worker has a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty so I ordered that too.

My work truck is a 2005 Ford F-150 and my fan was only running at maximum speed which is 4 and very noisy. My colleague has a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty, so I ordered one for his truck as well. If you have a 2004-2008 Ford (I'm sure others have them too) you can order one of these as this is a very common problem. Out of 9 Ford trucks at my work, 5 have had the same problem. My mom's Escape and my dad's Ranger, both 2008 models, also had this problem. On my truck (2005 F-150) it's easy. The…

Perfect for my escape

Perfect for my 2012 Ford Escape with 50,000 miles. The resistor comes in a Motorcraft bag with part numbers YH-1715 and 3F2Z-18591-AA. Made in Mexico. First I noticed that speeds 1 and 2 were missing, shortly after that I lost 3. The design of the resistor changed, but after 40? years it still performs the same function and still fails. I think I fixed my truck a few years ago. In any case, it's pretty easy to replace. I used a ratchet with a 1/4" drive and an 8mm short nut. The box opens all…
