It's getting worse!

Getting worse! We've bought about 10 of these over the years and they all broke when the loop was opened. They have sometimes lasted up to a year, with a current "improved model" lasting 3 months. Poor Chinese quality control just sucks our money! The return guarantee at Motorola is not easy, you have to fill out long forms, exchange emails, send in a defective device at your own expense. We're changing to another brand or design, don't know which one yet, good luck, it breaks anyway. :)

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good sound but poor poor boom.

Although the headset works great and the flip boom is a great idea, unfortunately the boom simply stopped after 2 months. It's pretty short lived. I sometimes use it in my car. The last similar item lasted much longer, but it also had a problem with the arrow - it didn't break off, but something doesn't work, since it only connects via bluetooth when you move the arrow - otherwise after an eternal one Connection asked. Obviously a bad connection, but that's not a guaranteed case. I will look…

It looks like the flip mic is slowly opening and closing.

I have been buying this range of Motorola headsets for many years. 3 H17 and HX550. The outer plastic cover falls apart after just one month. It looks like opening and closing the flip-up mic is slowly pushing the lid away. Superglue solved this problem. The only important part is the flip mic arm, which isn't broken yet. I'm glad I bought the "guarantee" Decent sound quality and good range. UPDATE: 7 months of ownership and the mic boom finally broke like everyone else. Motorola needs to…

I have enjoyed the quality Motorola HX550 Bluetooth models for many years and one still works like new. This should be a replacement for that wonderful Bluetooth. Then I would have a high-quality (but several years old) HX550 as a back-up if needed. Unfortunately, this new model is just as bad as many reviews indicate. Compared to the HX550, that's a complete zero on a scale of 1 to 10, while the 550 was a full 10 and very high quality. loss of quality. If you were in dire need of a backup and…

Significant drop in sound quality from previous models

I've owned many Bluetooth headsets from Motorola over the years, including some Boom-style headsets, and I've been quite impressed with their quality. Unless you're willing to spend big, it's difficult to strike a good balance between price and value. Prior to this release, Motorola and its licensed manufacturers were mostly pretty good in my opinion. This device does not meet the requirements. Fit and finish on par with previous models. Boom-style flip-outs are inherently fragile, but I only…

Massive disappointments. Motorola has ruined a good product.

All BOOM models have been bought and used for years. (Boom, Boom2 and Boom 2+) thanks to long battery life and excellent sound quality. But they all suffered from at least four deficiencies: 1. The rotating part of the boom breaks at the connection supports, and 2. The earwires break and the swivel or round-tooth loop coils around the handset.3. Earhooks can be painful. the end portion will irritate your ear.4. Recorded announcements sound at maximum volume and are uncomfortable. These BOOMs…
