It's a GPS and does exactly that

So I did quite a bit of research before I bought this GPS. It had decent reviews (4 stars at the time) and the main complaints were that the customer service was terrible and no directions. Being a bit "technologically advanced" I figured that wouldn't be a problem. Boy was I wrong. But I'll come back to that later. Now I'll start with the positive aspects. General use of the GPS is simple and works great. After the first boot, it starts quickly and easily. Forwarding is fast. Really fast…

Great GPS for your money!

First of all thank you Motorola for this device. I really like its functionality and the possibilities surprised me. I used to have a TomTom One 3rd Edition and there was nothing like it. The complaints I have are related to the software offered on the Motorola website. I can't connect it to get updates but it might just be Windows Vista. Another complaint about charging. While driving, you have to connect it to the docking station that connects to the arm, which is not mentioned in the…

Lots of features, but Motorola doesn't know the basics

You can read about all the interesting features of this GPS in other reviews. But compared to my 3 year old Garmin Nuvi 200 (the cheapest modern GPS money can buy) it's not. The only reason I wanted a new GPS was to get one that could read street names aloud. This moto has way more features than I need but I saw a good lightning price so I decided to give it a try. Send it back and order a new Garmin! The Garmin display is better: the colors are more contrasting, the street names are easier to…

Small GPS that has failed.

Forget all the bells and whistles, the true measure of a GPS is its ability to find your destination. Unfortunately, Motorola Motonav has failed 4 out of 7 times I've used it. Each time I typed in an address, I would hold my breath to see if the GPS would find the location on its maps. Too often it didn't. I'll honestly admit that my Hewlett-Packard iPAQ 310 Bluetooth 4.3 inch Widescreen Handheld GPS couldn't find any of the addresses either, but I bought a Motonav to REPLACE the ipaq. I chose…
