Great for cleaning up very small clumps that form after cleaning up mess with a large hole dust pan. The only thing you need when using it is patience! Because the holes are so small, it takes time to sift through them. For me it's not critical, but for someone it can be a deciding factor. I prefer a clean box, so I'm willing to spend an extra 10 minutes eliminating tiny clumps after sifting through large clumps with a large scoop. I've had it for a few months now and it's still holding up.

I use this scoop AFTER my 'regular' scoop to pick up all the little lumps and keep the box as clean as possible. The holes are really tiny so it didn't work at all with the old brand of litter I was using (something from a pet food store) but luckily I kept it and now it works fine with the Purina Tidy Cats litter I switched to am. I have to gradually scoop and gently sift to get the debris through the holes in the scoop, but it helps and is worth knowing the box is as clean as I can get.

I really wanted to love this cat paddle. I was looking for a spatula with smaller holes for fine scooping, but unfortunately this isn't it! First, the triangular shape, which I loved, is actually awful. It's thin, leaving the size of the "shovel" part so small that when you sift, it all falls out of the sides where the triangular part is. Exactly what I was looking for. I have a large, sturdy dustpan that is my main one. The holes on this one are so small it could take forever to use as a main shovel and it's plastic so I don't think it will hold up. But there are holes in my sturdy dustpan that are too big to hold all the small pieces of dirty trash. I love this dustpan. It has a VERY specific function and probably isn't for everyone. If like me you hate it when cats scatter their sticky litter into smaller pieces that fall through most scoops, then this is a 100% scoop to add to your daily routine. This isn't the main scoop, it's the one that cleans the small pieces after all the big pieces have been taken out.
