Great solution to a common GM problem

I've installed two of these in my wife's 2003 Chevrolet Suburban over the past few weeks. It appears to be an exact replacement and I was able to get them for about a third of the price from Revain than I could buy locally. Not sure about longevity but looks good so far.

The well-known sealant company

is very inexpensive from Revain. Used on my GMC 09's RF axis. Work looks intimidating, this was my first time. I picked up the axle tube in less than 45 minutes. Replaced the gasket and put it back together in less than 2 hours. and that was when using a floor jack. I saved over $600 by making it myself.

Pros
  • GOLS is certified

Good quality seal in axle shaft

Good quality seal, this national brand specific seal I received was made in Brazil for those interested. Replaced passenger side seal on 2008 Sierra 1500 4WD 5.3L with 8.25" gear in front diff. Maybe this can help someone, but to replace that specific side: 1) Remove the passenger wheel. Remove the skid plate under the front differential. 2 ) Remove strut with cross arm bolts Loosen or remove the bolts that attach the upper strut to the frame Move the strut to the side slightly Move the motor…
