The best buy!

Our family used different types of closures. We could never agree on what each of us wants. That's the first thing we can all agree on, best of all. Easiest handling, durable material and looks great! We all agree that we like it.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • old

I love this item. on hardware

Too bad we didn't install this in our shed years ago! It's so nice to be able to open and lock an oversized barn door from both sides instead of someone locking you in the barn or letting you out of the barn if you want to use a different exit. We had to add additional wood supports before we could install the handle due to the way our barn doors are set up.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Empty

great pen. in Door Hardware and Locks

I used this for a shed I built in my garden. It looks great with all the other hardware on the doors. I used nylock nuts on the bolts for security. A thief can loosen the bolts a bit, but he can't get them out. The handle is well made. Sheet metal parts are at least 1/8 inch thick. It's durable and safe. Holds the lock well. I am very sure. Now the hinges are the weak link in security, but I can fix them.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • No Machine

The perfect replacement.

I put off replacing a pair of these pens because I was sure I had to find someone to do it for me, even though I consider myself a do-it-yourself person. After several attempts to get replacement handles from a barn builder I gave up, ordered and installed it myself! They work great. I will no longer wait for someone to help me or bring them to me. It seems that the sale of the barn is all the company anticipated. No customer service. I will not hesitate to order more if needed.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons

Easy to install, clean look.

They were very easy to install. You need to make sure you have room for the stem to get to the handle on the inside of the gate. I had a small issue with wood chips getting stuck between the 2x4 and the batten after drilling the hole, but after cleaning them with a file the handle worked. The easiest way to ensure alignment is to install an inner handle that slides back and forth, then use a small drill to make small holes at the top and bottom of the slot where the stem fits in the handleโ€ฆ

  • Sturdy construction

Excellent latch, fits latch and latch

I have several of these latches. I have a small farm and they stand at the gate for my goats. Goats can open standard gravity locks and slide locks, but their lack of thumbs prevent them from twisting them. quite easy. For the second handle you need to drill a hole in the gate/door. Finding the hole is pretty easy, and you can drill it pretty big since the latch will cover a lot more than the 1/2 inch hole they need. The kit includes a latch to hold the door open on the wall - a nice additionโ€ฆ
