I used this wrench to remove the oil filter on a 1994 Chevy K1500 pickup truck with a 5.7 liter engine that I recently purchased. I think this can be more effective for some types of filters than others. I use a royal violet filter which has a very round case with some angular pieces and scratches and doesn't hold up well. It scratches and would fare much better with rubber edges. It feels like something as odd as putting a rubber band around the pins would help stop the slack that keeps the thing loosening unless you push against the tension (something you can't do by doing it turn the socket wrench backwards - it causes
