Description of Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED: Superior Wide-Angle Prime Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras

Compelling wide-angle perspective combined with an ultra-fast f/1.4 aperture serves the needs of demanding professionals in exacting conditions. Offers superior sharpness and color correction by effectively minimizing chromatic aberration, even at the widest aperture settings. Aspherical lens elements virtually eliminate coma and other types of aberration, even when shooting at the widest available aperture. A Nano Crystal Coat further reduces ghosting and internal flare across a wide range of wavelengths for even greater image clarity. Picture angle with 35mm (135) format-84°. Rear Focus (RF) provides smooth and fast auto-focus while eliminating front barrel rotation and lens length changes. Refer to the PDF attached below in Technical Specification for User Guide.

Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

Has some pros - light and voluminous picture at 1.4 - weight and dimensions compared to 24-70 are sooo pleasing - 1.4 fully working - perfectly holds backlight With its cons. - average AF speed - a little HA on the open (one button is treated in LR / Ps) - price, but this is top glass and it cannot be cheap

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Great lens. Small, neat, sharp. Picture without features: unobtrusive, soft, with quite artistic "sparkling" bokeh. Forms a dense and contrasting image; its characteristic trace of light reflections, reminiscent of the tricolor flag of some state, like a seal. Some pleasant emotions, in general. Got pros: - A very interesting opportunity is to shoot at 24 mm with this aperture value. This gives new sensations of volume at a wide angle with an open aperture, - Very little distortion even at the

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

I use it on the D700. Long dreamed about this FR. I considered other options, but settled on the top one from Nikon. Very satisfied! I really like this focal point. At first it is very unusual, you have to think a lot about the composition of the frame, which develops :). Drawing, such a wonderful transition to blur, contrast are the main advantages of this lens. In general justifies its price 100%.

Pros
  • Picture! Especially beautiful in the open. 1.4 - really working. Very contrasting, even on the back.
Cons
  • I have not identified. On the Internet they say that you need to check for back focus at distances of 2 meters and beyond. I'm lucky. I checked it in the store and bought the first one.

That's why I chose Nikon

This lens is an example of why I chose Nikon. It's fair to say that there are issues that detract from the outstanding performance of this lens, but let's remember this lens is fantastically sharp and wide open and consider that. My biggest complaint is the autofocus speed. While older AF-D mechanical drive systems depended on the body's autofocus speed, AF-S lenses have the same speed with all bodies. It's faster than the 50 f/1.4G, which is fairly slow, but it won't win races. It tends to be…

Very unique lens best in Lenses

This lens opens up a lot of possibilities for me. Not to repeat the many positives that others have commented (great low light, sharp wide aperture, good background separation, etc.), this lens requires something from me. Focus is rated more for accuracy than speed and seems fast enough in actual use. I've learned to focus calmly before I press the shutter button. Focusing on the F100 has worked flawlessly so far. On some shots where the subject was running towards me (didn't have time to check

Honestly, this is my favorite lens. I mainly have Nikkor and .

Honestly, this is my favorite lens. I mostly used Nikkor lenses and this lens got the most attention. It's a solid, quality construction. Because of its versatility, small size and relatively light weight (compared to other fast prime lenses), it can easily become an everyday landscape lens. 6 months after buying this lens in the store, I was shooting with a relatively thin tripod and the wind knocked the camera over. The lens hood cracked and the body came out of the episode with a few minor…

It's great on the d810.

This lens is as good as everyone says. I shoot quite a bit of cityscapes at hyperfocal distances with the d810. The D810 places really high demands on lenses. Any flaws become pretty obvious because it has such a high resolution. This lens at f8 is sharp at all angles. I didn't notice any curvature of the field in the field (I don't do lab tests). That means I can take a shot and that's it. In most cases, focus stacking is not required. It is very nice. I enjoy reading most of Ken Rockwell's…

My favorite lens from day one.

Been using 24mm 1.4 for over 6 months. This is by far my favorite lens. As a guide I also have 50mm 1.4, 24-70 2.8 and 35mm 1.8. Pros: 1. For me the main reason to buy this lens is the duty to control the field. I like this lens for ambient portraits when I want subjects to be sharp and surroundings visible but less pronounced.2. Low light shots at 1.4 are great. But I don't expect low pile to shoot at f1.4. The image quality with an open aperture is excellent. No compromise. With its excellent

The photo is expensive =P

First, I'm not a professional, just an extreme amateur. I just received this today and the autofocus on my D3200 was way off at 1.4. Unfortunately the D3200 doesn't have an AF fine tune option so I had to set 24mm manually with a screw under the mirror in the lightbox. 6 hours of fun considering how sensitive this screw is at f1.4. Literally 1 inch depth of field. ATTENTION! ADJUST THE SCREW AT YOUR OWN RISK! IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO OPEN THE LIGHT AND MIRROR FOR MANUAL ADJUSTMENT! THE SENSOR…

Rest assured you will see the difference immediately.

I just bought my 24-70 and 70-200 to complement my d800e and I knew I might need a fast wide-angle prime in my kit. Some of you may think I'm crazy to spend so much money on a prime when my zoom covers that focal length. Okay, I'm crazy and I love shooting in natural low light. I'd just taken part in a major motorcycle rally and wasn't sure about my lighting conditions, but knew I'd be indoors and out all week, shooting quickly without controlling my subjects. All I can say is that the…
