I bought this to replace the remote control for my Smart TV which is no longer there. This remote works great with my Samsung Smart HDTV. I finally found an OEM remote but mostly used this generic remote. I now have a spare in case my remote is lost again. Note: always check those sofa cushions!

I was concerned because there were no instructions on how to sync the remote to the TV. I put the batteries in and hit the power button and surprisingly everything worked without the need for syncing. I am very grateful although I am concerned about how the remote control can do this and still protect my privacy as a Smart TV. I think only time will tell. I like that the volume button and channel button are illuminated in the dark.

We bought a Samsung UE40K6379SUXZG about six months ago. Unfortunately, it comes with a smart remote that doesn't work properly. In addition, the remote control periodically rotated, or the TV only responded to the second or third press, and then even more. Poorly. No pairing or extra steps. Couldn't be easier to use. All I did was put in two triple batteries, hit the power button and got back to work. Every button and function worked correctly with my TV. I bought this to replace a lost 2013 Samsung PN64F8500 plasma remote control. The image in the ad is identical to the model I received. The remote is Samsung branded and claims to be new, although there were some surface marks on both sides of the remote that have not been polished.
