Well done with the A/C Line Repair Tools

Subaru Outback 3.6 2013 Hand and Back. This worked perfectly in my application. When used with an impact wrench, the spring compresses evenly and securely. It's very well built, thick metal and good welds. As soon as I got an offer from a local store for over $300 to get the job done, I decided to invest in this tool and I have no regrets. It was packed very well; sealed in very thick molded foam. I reused the rubber grommet that came with the screw to protect the threads for future use.

No injuries to report!

I actually read and followed the directions once and didn't lose a limb or my face. In my opinion, independently working spring compressors are too schematic and a safer alternative. I went a step further and tied the spring tightly to the compressor with 3/8 inch chain and then also to the extremely heavy immobilized object so if something went sideways it wouldn't go far. a much cheaper version available from port charters which includes a security ring which is not included. I bought it…

Pros
  • Large fit for me

  • Long delivery time

Coilovers done on a 2016 F150.

It works very well, but my truck's springs appear to be the largest allowable spring diameter. There are (4) pins, one in each corner, that had to be modified in order for me to hook them. I used a hand sander to sand the edge on each pin so there was a flat spot. Only this flat area could slide past the spring. I don't think I can fit a larger diameter spring, I was maxed out. I smeared the bolt with plenty of oil and it seems to compress the spring without twisting or bending the bolt. This…

Best Spring Compressor for the Money

Best Spring Compressor for the Money. I've never used it, but you shouldn't settle for less. This is very safe because even though I didn't compress the spring evenly the first time, it bent the ring that holds the thick black metal rod with the spring around it, nothing more. No explosions, no sharp spasms. I felt in control the whole time. It's strong enough to make all 4 springs even after a little flexing of the ring. At the same time, to prevent the threaded rod from seizing, I coated the…

Worked on 3rd generation ('96-'02) Toyota 4Runner

Worked like a charm! I've changed many struts with old school handheld compressors over the years. Never had a crash but they flexed at extreme angles during use which I thought were extreme. Not willing to drop nearly a thousand on a factory rack-mount compressor, I tried this one, which seemed a little safer to me. In practice it feels safer. Of course, you need to be careful with such devices. But in any case, he compressed the spring with ease. The large threaded rod flexed even with…
