Filled with spring water after thorough washing and boiled water for tea. The next morning the water was turned on again and the tea became really tasteless, lid opened and mold started to settle on the floor overnight. Bought this kettle to quickly boil water at work. Unfortunately, although it boils water quickly and is well designed, the water has a strong plastic taste. I've tried soaking the inside in vinegar twice for 5 hours and then washing and soaking in soapy water but nothing took away the flavor. I've also asked others to taste the water to see if it has something to do not only with my taste buds but also with the plastic. I'm going back and buying a stainless steel kettle instead.
