This bolt looks great, and simple to install. However, the moment I slide the bolt, a portion of the finish scraped off. I can only image how it would look in a few weeks after steady use. The directions about the tension spring are poor, and the spring itself is a tiny piece of thin, cheap metal that looks liable to break. It also isn't secured, so when you slide the bolt back, it pops out. We didn't notice it the first time it fell out, and I almost vacuumed it up. I imagine you could make it

I have not installed it yet. it does look like it will hold up over time. Just BE CAREFUL. That little retention spring can go flying if you try to move the slide before it is installed on the door. Nearly lost it in the first minute of looking at it.

just what I ordered. I used it in a vertical position at the top of the interior door. the bolt was sliding down by itself due to its own weight. I removed the friction springs, bent them to have more camber and friction, and it seems the bolt is not sliding anymore.

Seems like a very good product. I had to exchange mine because I was missing a spring to hold the bolt in place when sliding it up and down. When I finish installing the first one, I will probably buy another.

Although these are made very sturdy, they’re not the color they say. They are painted, regular dark brown paint over brass. Not happy with the color, since they won’t match the other hardware, but other than that, they’ll do.

Fresh out of the package and I can already see the quality of the finish is very poor. It's already scraped off in spots, showing brass underneath, and I havent even installed it yet! It does seem to be sturdy and functional, though.

Easy to install, works great, but they sent the wrong color altogether. The bolts may loosen and require frequent tightening! It was not bronze but stainless steel.

Did not come with the parts shown in the picture. I received an open bag with just the bolt. No receptacle or screws. Complete hassle having to return.

I like the sturdiness of this bolt. Nice to get the two receiver choices. Would like to see longer heavier screws. The installation process may be complex for those without experience!

I bought 3 sets. A bit more expensive than other options, but you get what you pay for. Pleasantly surprised with the quality. They’re heavy duty, in a good way, and look awesome.

This item says there is a tension spring in the latch to hold the bar but there is nothing to keep it in place. The bolts may be difficult to adjust or replace.

The little metal spring tab in the back of the sliding bolt piece falls out easily and so does not hold the bolt in place when shifted to a lock position. I've tried flattening out the little spring tab so it fits into it's niche with more purchase, but it just falls out.
