Works great since June 2016 with an irrigation pump for pumping water from my cesspool. Today (4/26/17) I turned on the pump - the valve hasn't leaked for 5 months without using the pump - it's still full of water. Very impressive. Update 5/2/18: Pump switched on after another 5 months of non-use and the pump was still primed and ready to run - there was no leakage at the bottom valve.

No problems with this unit. For me it's only kept at about 5 feet from the pond. works well with Wayne PLS 100 1 HP pump and 100 psi 1 inch black tubing which I use. I drilled a few 1" holes in a 5 gallon bucket to set it up so it wouldn't suck up silt and vegetation from the bottom of the pond.

Great foot valve. I bought it at the same time as a 1.6 HP garden pump. Absolutely necessary as it maintains water pressure in your hoses when you temporarily turn off the pump (e.g. when changing from sprinkler to nozzle). It also filters the incoming water, preventing clogging or pump damage. I use it in the lake to water the grass. Indispensable. Also, it's very heavy so it acts as a "weight" and quickly lowers your hose to the bottom of the lake and holds it in place. Have been using it…
