Finally no more swimming!

I like the feeling of a secure fit and any buoyancy takes that away from me. These boots make you feel snug and I feel like it gives me a little more power. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Provides more gear and stability
Cons
  • not secure

They wear out too quickly

I replaced the worn cleats on October 22nd and on November 30th the right side was completely worn out and not holding the pedal. I won't buy these again. $20 for just over a month. Now I'm trying cheaper copies, although they don't fit.

Pros
  • Material: Heavy Duty Brass
Cons
  • Broadly OK, but...

they still work fine. In my experience

I don't feel any difference between these "zero" lugs and my previous "premium" lugs, but they still work great. In my experience, Crank Brothers cleats and pedals go well together and suit my style of mountain biking.

Pros
  • Adjustment: 2.2mm left/right
Cons
  • Nothing here

Very precise power delivery

I've been using Crank Brothers pedals on my cross country mountain bike for years. I don't know why I've only just tried these zero motion spikes. But now I know this was a longstanding mistake! Take the time to match these spikes to your shoes and geometry, once you get it right you'll feel their stiffness and precise power transfer.

Pros
  • Weight: 30g pair
Cons
  • Useless features

Not just brackets and screws.

So I read the reviews and was skeptical to buy it. I thought I would just go with spikes and screws but everything came in Crank Brothers packaging. Spikes, long and short screws, plank risers and screw plates. Happy with this purchase. I currently ride Shimano SPD and feel like they have a lot of lift so I'm really hoping I like them.

Pros
  • 0 degree float
Cons
  • band

My cleats needed less buoyancy

I wasn't sure if they really had no buoyancy or not as I wanted less buoyancy than my SH51 Shimano cleats. They are definitely better which means they have less buoyancy, but remember you will always have a little buoyancy no matter what. This made it easier for me to get off the pedals, which was a problem in low speed falls due to the little lateral movement of my ankles from previous motorcycle accidents. If you want good cleats and a pedal that releases easily and cleanly, but is also great

Pros
  • Release angle: 15 degrees
Cons
  • I don't remember

Great upgrade to the standard Crank Brothers pimples (more buoyancy). to me.

My first set of cleats were standard Crank Brothers cleats which have a much larger escapement. It was probably good for me when I started with boots. These new zero float boots are a great upgrade for me. They snap in and out a lot easier than the floating Crank Brothers I replaced. Disclaimer: The ones I replaced had some wear but not bad wear. I use Sidi Mountain Shoes and Crank Brothers Mountain Pedals on my road bike so there has always been some form of shoe sole protection for the Crank…

Pros
  • Reduced escapement for better centering
Cons
  • Blank
