Excellent value for money - highly recommended

I've been looking for the right ramp for my senior chow mix (56 lbs, about 13 years old) for a long time. I have an SUV (Acura RDX) and the dog is too old to jump and I'm too old to lift/pull. ;-) I wanted something that 1) is strong and durable (preferably an all-aluminum frame), 2) relatively light (ideally 15 pounds or less), 3) compact enough to be easily transported in a car, 4) so as wide as possible (dogs are often suspicious of narrow ramps and will stagger on them), and last but not…

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions

Great for big dogs!

I bought this ramp based on the good reviews and advertised load capacity. I had trouble finding anything for a large breed dog (120lbs+). Of course, the first thing we did after opening was to assemble it. To my surprise, no assembly was required. It opens easily and is very smooth. We then tried it with our 130lb mastiff. The ramp stayed level and straight as it went up and down on our new Tahoe. That was the reason we kept it. Why 3 stars? The sandpaper material on it is very thin. As soon…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Here's what I like about her

Here's what I like about her: I have an 85 kg golden retriever with severe arthritis and I can't jump out of a car. I chose this ramp because I like that it slides together instead of stacking. It fits perfectly in the back of my car. My dog went down it with little to no coaxing, and the surface helped her not to slip. There are scratches on the surface from his fingernails, but they are minimal and don't bother me at all. Here's what I don't like: If I didn't already have a rubber coated…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some flaws

The ramp itself is strong, compact, light weight, everything I wanted. bed or couch. The coating of sandpaper is generally scolded in reviews. As mentioned, this is easy for the user to solve with a kitchen drawer liner. Why wouldn't the manufacturer just use a factory rubberized grip instead of sandpaper? Major Cons: Almost tears your finger off when unlocking. Even though I knew this and did my best to be careful, I stood in shock and looked at the blood tearing my nail in half. I won't post…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Something different

THE BEST RAMP FOR LARGE DOGS

I bought this ramp for my 125 lb Great Dane mix that was having trouble loading. I have a Jeep Liberty and this ramp was the perfect length/height for rear loading. I love that it doesn't need to be locked up to work - you can make it as steep or as long as you can and it's ready to ride right out of the box, so I'm sure it will work for many different types of vehicles. It turned out to be a bit narrower than I had hoped and my Dane was a little hesitant to use it at first. You'll probably…

  • Easy to use

Fits perfectly. at Carriers & Travel Products

We have two dogs - a 14 year old, 40lb Shepherd/Lab mix (Sky) and a 6 year old, 55lb Golden/Springer mix (Duette). About a year ago, Sky began hesitating as he jumped into the back of our SUV and hesitated as he jumped out. Her eyesight became impaired and old age caught up with her strength. So we started getting him in and out of the back of the SUV, but sometimes it wasn't easy, and doing it with a wet dog out in the lake isn't exactly fun. So we started thinking about the ramp. We made sure

Pros
  • Quality construction

  • Negative impression

He wins because there is no one else like him.

Good. I'll save you some time here: what all the other reviews say is true. Let's start with the good: It's really, really strong. My 100+ pound shepherd is pacing up and down without the slightest bow. Considering it's surprisingly easy. We need the smallest folding ramp in length and thickness, but at the same time long enough to climb up. This is what he excels at. And now it's not so good. You will feel as if you could lose a finger or a leg at any time. Stupid plastic seat belt. I give him

Pros
  • Doping 🔥
Cons
  • Good, but not great
