Working but with some limitations

I bought the device about 3 years ago and have had mixed results with it. I liked it at first as it was easy to change the oil with it (a big plus was not having to remove the floor pan). Changing the transmission oil in my old truck also worked wonders. However, I have noticed that the device is very weather dependent and hoses don't like to stay on their fittings. It also sometimes drips out of the pump. Another reviewer stated that it's more ergonomic because it inflates laterally (similar…

The canister fell apart the first time I used it.

Attempting to change the oil in my boat engines, 2 4.3 liter v6s. On the first engine, after 35 strokes on the pump, the canister collapsed and the handle popped out of the retaining ledge. He took out the whistle, but the canister didn't recover its shape. Then the connection where the hoses are connected further broke up. The second engine didn't suck oil unless I kept pulling on the hose from below to get a charge of air. it.made a huge mess.bad design.need to pump oil with a pump,no suction

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Easier and cleaner on drum and hand pumps

Used this to change the gear oil on my van. After readjusting the tightness of various plastic fittings to prevent vacuum leaks, it worked well, if a little slowly. (It took 15 minutes to pump six liters out of the cold (70* Fahrenheit) transmission.) With a simple assembly and about thirty crank strokes, I set the unit on the ground to allow gravity to suck it in. I used my transmission's feeler gauge and sharpie marker to mark the length of pipe it took to reach the liquid inside. The device…

After 2 years of service.

I bought this unit in early 2017 to change engine oil, transmission oil and power steering oil in my For Edge. Although initially everything worked fine, after 2 years not so much. I've changed the oil twice, only the AT fluid once and haven't gotten to the PS fluid yet. Every time I used it I would run Dawn water through the hoses while pulling it up to the tank. I washed the tank thoroughly, dried it and put it back in the box. Last week I tried using it for an oil change. Two things…

Handle the disconnect on first use but don't despair

As I said in the title, the device does the job just fine. I also bought a steel canister version with a handle that sticks up and looks like a football pump. The ergonomics of this design are excellent. It is much more convenient to store and does not have as many small parts as a steel container. As others have experienced, with fewer than the full number of pumps they recommended, the pen bulb came loose in my hand. It must be my superhuman strength. The recommendation is to just step back…

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Not sure

I ordered this a few months ago and have used it to change the oil in my cars as well as some friends so have had many opportunities to try it. EVERY pump makes the process easy, quick and clean. You just gently and slowly insert the dip tube into the dipstick tube until you feel it making contact with the oil pan (something newbies should be careful about. You don't want to go any further or the tube could get stuck). which can add a lot of time and clutter to the whole process). The advantage

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

In my book they were 10+ - no more!

One star is too hard. They used to be the best thing since sliced bread. I've been using mine for many years and with just a few tricks they've made them great. (Tape hose connections etc so you don't lose air. Simple but effective) My new one.…… ……….I just bought a second one to use on the go when I'm not at home. Pump Road is off. He would try to work, but he won't. This has become a problem. The washer was deformed on the pump - ok fixed it got better. Even so, it would not vibrate normally.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
