Improved Performance Z36 Truck & Tow Front Brake Kit by Power Stop K2069-36 Review

This kit was at a great price. The components appear to be of good quality. The break procedure is a bit crazy, I'm not sure if it couldn't be done better during production. I give one star for durability, let's see how long they last. I expect to ride them 60k before changing the pads.

This is a good replacement for the factory brakes. It is imperative that you follow break-in procedures to land on the surface. I've had them on another truck with over 50,000 miles and they hold up much better and I still have plenty of brakes left. I will use them on any vehicle that needs new brakes. Better damper for better braking performance.

Everything fits my 2007 GMC Sierra perfectly. I bet it works even better than when I bought the truck new. Slotted and perforated rotors help a lot with braking and cooling compared to stock OEM rims which were just slick. When you put them on, be sure to follow the braking procedure exactly, otherwise it won't brake properly (disk warping is not good).

If you want to do it yourself, then you are here. Either for towing or big wheels and tires like me. I have fitted many brakes and rotors to various makes and models in the past and they have certain breaks in the instructions so follow them. Once broken in, these breaks are great, they stop on a dime. There is no need to talk about the durability. However, if something breaks before a reasonable time, I will update.

We bought a set of MAX brakes and discs a little over a year ago and have been running warped discs for 4-5 months. So on 11/22/2021 I replaced them with these Power Stop brakes and rotors at the Cole-hart shop. The way home wasn't what I expected. Smoother and faster braking response. 15 year old Silverado 1500 with stock tires and camper towing so will update my review after my October trip and all the brake changes.

The front brakes and rotors were replaced with these today (Power Stop K2069-36 Z36 Truck & Tow Front Brake Kit). I changed front brakes and discs a few months ago and flipped the original discs; However, they have developed a warp. So I went ahead and bought them to update. The installation went very well - no problems. After installation I followed Power Stop's recommended break-in procedures for the brakes and everything works very well. I'll provide an update if they ever fix the problem.

This K2069-36 currently gets a 5 star rating as I have only driven my truck 2 days since I fitted it. I never realized how awful my current breakdown situation is until I got these brakes. The very next day I was in a hard braking situation where the guy in front of me wasn't paying attention and was shadowing the car in front of him so I had to hit the brakes pretty hard and oh my god they were so smooth and incredibly grippy. to brake my 1/2 ton Silverado.
