Great Puller - Dodge Ram 2500 3rd Gen

Works great to pull out the pitman arm on a Dodge Ram 2500 3rd Gen 5.9L Cummins 3rd Gen. The clamps are a bit thick so I had to use a mini sledgehammer to lower them onto the crank. To pull the connecting rod out, tighten the puller with an impact wrench to tension it, lightly tap the connecting rod collar with a mini sledgehammer, then retighten, repeat as needed and it should resolve themselves after one or two iterations of this technique.

Pros
  • Forged and Heat Treated Chrome Vanadium Steel for extra strength
Cons
  • Angry

The jaws were a bit wide.

My situation is very special, but on my Lamborghini Jalpa I noticed when separating the front tie rods from the steering knuckle that the silver "claws" or part holding the joint was a bit wide and almost slipped over the joint. Luckily I managed to set the instrument on fire and clog the jaws a bit. The rest worked great! I usually wear safety goggles and cover my face when using any of these tools. The goggles stay put, but I felt comfortable enough with the build quality to use them with…

Pros
  • Fine-thread central screw ensures maximum torque
Cons
  • Generally ok, but...

Super quick and easy

Used to disconnect the tie rod on my 2018 Tacoma when installing the lift kit. This thing saved me so much time. I've seen a lot of installation videos of people hitting the ball bearing with a hammer and pushing the part in. You can rent it from an auto parts store, but I don't mind keeping it to myself in the future.

Pros
  • For disconnecting the bipod from the steering box.
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Large Puller - Dodge Ram 2500 3rd Gen

Worked great pulling the pitman lever on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins 3rd Gen. The clamps are a bit thick so I had to use a mini sledgehammer to lower them onto the crank. To pull the connecting rod out, tighten the puller with an impact wrench to tension it, lightly hit the connecting rod collar with a mini sledgehammer, then retighten, repeat as needed and it should resolve themselves after one or two iterations of this technique.

Pros
  • Fine thread center screw provides maximum torque
Cons
  • unreliable

Tie Rod Puller Suitable for shock absorbers, struts and suspensions

Only used once but it has successfully removed the arm joint without damaging the oiler. I had to hit the bar a few times once I fully tightened the puller. Not exactly sure why it comes with two screws as it seems like the longer of the two should work for everything unless you have spacing issues I think. Well I guess if one breaks you have a spare. It seems to be built quite rigidly. Should serve me for many years. I hope.

Pros
  • Has a lifetime factory warranty
Cons
  • There are new competitors
