Looking good, forwarding power to host

This driven hub looks very nice with polished aluminum and it's a great idea to secure it. I also like that the power connector is a standard micro-USB rather than a random barrel-shaped connector. I found that it allows current back to the host port when powered, they didn't use a diode to make the current flow unidirectional. It doesn't supply enough current to reverse the Raspberry Pi 4, but it does pass some current, around 200-300mV. Luckily this can be fixed by opening it up and rippingโ€ฆ

High-performance 4-port hub for special applications

This 4-port powered USB 3.0 hub was just what I needed to connect USB devices (phone, webcam, VOIP phone ) add what had to be found near my monitor. It was the perfect look and size to attach to the base of my Dell monitor. Pros: Good design, fit, look and feel for this app. Cons: This hub will only work if the thickness of the intended attachment point is within a fairly narrow range. The uplink cables (included) are also non-standard, using a USB-A to USB-A cable for data transfer and a USB-A

Partly wireless around your desktop

Good: attaches to a desk, clamp works well, is stable, out of the way, sure. Very compact and I only occasionally need an extra USB connection currently chained to a wired keyboard/mouse and a spare cable to charge/sync my Mac and iPhone desktop. They work fine. As an intermittent connection for a camera, flash drives work well. Double plus no good: When attempting to move a disk reader from a desktop port to this hub, the reader would not accept disks of any kind. Switched the reader back toโ€ฆ

Fits most things

So. I have no major problems with this as a hub. It copes with its task, there is a power cord that allows you to connect four additional devices. with a caveat. Of course, as long as it is powered, this performance is limited. In other words. Don't expect to plug in four devices, all of which require extra power, and expect them to work. Four flash drives? Of course. Four laptop coolers? Maybe, but they will be weak. Four phones are charged. they would at least attack, albeit slowly. Myโ€ฆ

Exactly what the doctor ordered!

These hubs are exactly what I was looking for, they replace unassembled hubs and attach to the edges of surfaces such as desks and tables (see three photos of them on the table and behind the scanner stand). Be sure to buy the latest version of the powered hub, not earlier non-powered versions (power does not improve signal quality, but adds enough power to power or charge connected devices; however, longer USB runs still require an "active" extension cord one on the front end will also help)โ€ฆ
