tinting mask keeps what it promises. I think it is recommended to leave it for 5 minutes. I left it in my hair for about 15 minutes as my hair is VERY unruly. I use different purple shampoos/conditioners. I've had limited success with many of them (Clairol, Bed Head, Fanola, etc.). Each did little to reduce my brassiness and all were very dry. I don't want to dry my hair for no reason (well, I don't want to dry my hair anyway). Now it's not a shampoo or conditioner, it's a mask. That's something different! My hair naturally warms up with gold and brass tones. I needed cool tones so I bought this product to see how much ash I could add to my blonde. I used it for the first time and applied it to dry hair on the recommendation of the hairdresser and let it sit for 10 minutes instead of five. When I washed it I was FLOOR. The hair is much softer. It removed some of the yellow/copper tone in my hair, but not as much as I was hoping or expecting. I spent about 50 minutes between uses with this material on my hair.
