Get ready for frustration.

This handle went on easy enough but it is so hard to lock and unlock with the keys. Just spend the money on one easier to assemble! It works properly about 1 out of 5 tries.

Pros
  • Take your time installing
Cons
  • Just spend the money on one easier to assemble

No Lock on inside of door

Bizarre that you can only lock the door on the outside. you can latch on inside, but you can only lock with the key from the outside.

Pros
  • The directions leave alot to be desired. You have to figure it out for yourself.
Cons
  • Can wear off or peel easily after prolonged use

Works great - my new review

The sliding door handle fits perfectly. The most difficult part of the installation was cutting the step lengths that insert into the locking/opening mechanism. I used my Dremel with a diamond cutting edge, and that worked great. I also spray-painted the face plate that covers the locking mechanism White, just so everything would match. The face plate took paint fine.

Pros
  • It replaces our handle that broke due to lack of sturdiness. Hopefully this one will be better.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other similar products in the market

Great keyed handle best in my review

I was hesitant to purchase after reading the reviews but after a 15 minute installation it works perfectly on my rear slider! I live in an apartment and the parking area is behind me so I now can enter through the slider instead of walking around the entire building to the main entrance and using my key card. the lock is solid and sturdy and operates silky smooth

Pros
  • Works pretty good so far. Looks nice on the door
Cons
  • Parts can be fragile and easily breakable

DO NOT BUY on my review.

Not really for a 1.5 in door. You cannot lock from both sides unless you have a door 2 inches or larger. Either you can use the keyed side or the latch lock, but both will not fit in the 1.5 in opening. So… if you just need a lock this might work. Wasted my money twice because the first time the whole thing snapped in two trying to cut the locks to the right size. Second one wouldn’t work.

Pros
  • Universal fit for doors 1.5 to 1.75 inches thick ensures compatibility with most doors.
Cons
  • May not provide enough insulation against noise and temperature changes

Met Expectations - my new review

Everything was near perfect; it was easy to install. At first it was hard to turn the key as the latch needs to come out of the door and then up. But after spraying it with graphite lube it works great!

Pros
  • Exactly what I was looking for
Cons
  • Limited color choices

Does not fit the door it says it will

We got this latch in hopes we could replace the one we have on our slider, and this one said it was a perfect match for our door. No, it was not at all. We sent it back and didn't have any problems with the return.

Pros
  • Just as described
Cons
  • Average quality materials used in production

Good reasonably priced product

Item was as described at a very reasonable price. For a handy person it should take no more than 15 to 20 minutes to install in pre-existing holes.

Pros
  • Enhances the value of your property, making it a stylish and functional investment
Cons
  • The lock mechanism can be too complicated for some people to use

Screws/screw holes are bad

The screws that come with are terrible. And I had to cut down both the lock pin and the latch pin - only one of which was scrored to quick cut. I used bolt cutters on the other. The screw holes barely fit the screws (couldn't start by hand). The screws are so soft they just stripped right away. Now I have to go find the right sized screws from the hardware store because I couldn't tighten all the way. :( Otherwise, the lock works, latch lines up and the key is smooth so far.

Pros
  • So nice to be able to get in and out of slider with a key
Cons
  • Install process can be tedious and time-consuming

Unclear instructions, but it does work.

The kit came complete, however the instructions are terrible. I had the hardest time figuring out what to do. I ended up punching out the slug in the Pella patio door and just using the lock from the kit. Apparently what you need to do is after disassembling the door handle mechanism on the patio door is to insert the lock mechanism thru the mortice, then add the inside handle and you then cut the length of the stem on the lock. It comes with a long stem, but the instructions don't tell you…

Pros
  • GOOD
Cons
  • Can only fit specific door measurements, limiting its versatility

Easy Replacement for my opinion

My house is only a couple of years old. The patio door installed was manufactured by Hayfield Windows and is a standard 6' sliding door. After reviewing the specs of this replacement sliding door handle and the specs of my patio door. it looked to be a perfect match, and it was. The reason for replacement was the old patio door handle didn't have a lockset. I wanted a door handle with a lockset so I could leave my house through the patio door and lock it up securely. The swap between the old…

Pros
  • Installed quickly, very sturdy
Cons
  • Color may not match existing hardware in the house

Great handle and lock replacement

Was pretty easy to install. Cutting the bars that meet inside the door is always tricky but otherwise it went smoothly and is much better than what we had. The lock itself is very sturdy.

Pros
  • Matched right up to my slider door
Cons
  • Lock mechanism can attract dust and debris, leading to malfunctions

No good installation instructions

We bought this handle for the lock and could not figure out how to install both the outside and inside mechanism. There was only one slot and only one mechanism fit at a time. The instructions that came with handle were useless. The handle itself was excellent if only there were detailed instructions on how to install it using both indoor and outdoor lock mechanisms.

Pros
  • Nothing but easy to install.
Cons
  • Requires constant maintenance to ensure proper function

Probably the worst hardware item I've purchased on ebay

Starting with the user manual which is useless and cannot for the life of it elaborate how both the lever and key stick are BOTH supposed to go in to the 45deg slot. Only they do not fit both you have to cut both the lever stick and the key stick to somehow perfectly fit halfsies in the slot. The screw holes do not line up with the original handles so I had to create a new set of screw holes in the door and another for the lever and key stick. So I have 6 holes on each side of the patio door…

Pros
  • Superior craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure a flawless finish.
Cons
  • The lock mechanism can be too sensitive, causing false alarms

Didn't match my slider door assembly

As mentioned universal wasn't a direct fitment for my slider door. The spacing isnt as described. So I would double check with the measurements of your mortise lock spacing and this unit before purchasing.

Pros
  • Mortise lock and key cylinder provide enhanced security, safeguarding against break-ins.
Cons
  • Can be challenging to find a locksmith familiar with fixing this model of lock

Need better instructions

Instructions need to be much clearer. Such as, snap or trim down to fir your preferred door size. etc. Not very compatible with smart home automation technology.

Pros
  • KEYED
Cons
  • Not very compatible with smart home automation technology

Some parts you need to buy separately.

Does not come with the door lauch insert. You have get them separtely. ebay delivery was amazing they delivered in 2 hours of order.

Pros
  • Fits seamlessly into any patio decor, adding a polished and finished look.
Cons
  • Not widely available in stores or online

Glad I had my Dremel blade

Works great. Instructions were fairly straight forward. You have to cut one of the lock pieces to length according to your door. Easy to understand, but tough to cut. I had recently purchased some cutting blades for my Dremel tool and glad I did as it was quite a cut. Be sure you have a good way to cut metal before you begin as there's no other way to around it.

Pros
  • Backed by a comprehensive warranty that guarantees customer satisfaction.
Cons
  • Can be too heavy on the door handle, causing damage over time

This is probably not what you want

The mortise lock on our patio door (which we use a lot) broke, so we decided to replace the whole mechanism since the outer handle disintegrated when we took it off. Our old set had a key lock (which we never used) so we decided this was the closest thing. There were no instructions whatsoever, so you'll need to go on YouTube to find out how to take out the old lock and install a new one. This set came with 2 very short screws to hold the lock in place and we could not get them to grab and…

Pros
  • Ergonomic design ensures comfortable and effortless operation.
Cons
  • May be too expensive for homeowners on a budget

Must have metalworking tool to complete!

After what seemed like an easy enough replacement to a broken mortise latch, this install was anything but simple. It took referencing reviews AND YouTube to figure out it was time to get the Dremel out. The main problem, the ONLY problem, is the interior latch mechanism. Simply stated, it's one-size-fits-all approach is anything but. You MUST be able to cut metal in order for this to work. The interior latch had to be cut and sanded in order to fit into the mortise lock. I ended up taking off…
