The wheel is only 1/16 " wide! Too small!

The recommended spline size range may not work with this tool in any way. Splines, the wheel cannot ride on splines. The wheel width is 1/16" and the edges are very sharp, die-cut wheels. If your spline isn't 1/16" in diameter, forget about using this tool. Also, it seems pretty solid and would get the job done if just the right thing would be size.

Window Glass Replacement Tool

The wooden handle definitely seems more durable than the plastic ones I've found at local department stores. The tool has 2 roller ends, one concave and the other convex. I used the concave side to fit the slotted portion of the window into the slot in a fiberglass screen replacement project. Slow and even pressure prevents the tool from slipping out of the guide. Both ends are securely attached to the handle and the metal reel lasts longer than the plastic/nylon reels I've seen.

EXCELLENT when used CORRECTLY

An essential task review tool. WARNING - Many reviews of this product complain that it cuts through the fiberglass screen. This is because it is used incorrectly. When installing the fiberglass disc, NEVER use the convex wheel - the fiberglass disc must not be pushed into the groove in the frame - it will simply return to its original shape and with this use the wheel will cut through the canvas. Simply place a piece of screen on the frame and use the concave wheel to push the wedges into the…

Mandatory Pet Gate Installation

I had to install a new pet gate on the gate door and read that the plastic gates don't work. Well, I have a plastic one and it definitely wouldn't work. The pet screen is much thicker and more difficult to install than regular screen material. It was definitely worth the money. No matter how hard I squeezed this roller when installing the pet gate, the plastic version would break easily. Trust me when installing something thicker than a regular screen. money well spent.

Worked great! Don't be afraid to push hard

I used this to replace my torn aluminum screen with the excellent youtube video by "seejanedrill". Instead of having to look up what "concave" and "convex" mean, use an edge of the (convex) end to slide the screen into the channel. Use the double-edged (concave) end that looks like there's a small groove between the two edges to push the spline into the channel. Be sure to use the correct diameter wedges and apply plenty of pressure to keep the wedges in good condition. It's really fast once…

This only applies to aluminum screen material!

I ordered this because of the screen work I needed to do. Upon arrival the package said 'For aluminum screen material'. Nowhere in this promotional offer was this mentioned. Found it out the hard way. I tried it on a fiberglass sheet and immediately cut out the material. Non-aluminum screening tools use a plastic or nylon wheel set to reduce the risk of cutting through the material. It would be nice to know before ordering this P05. I decided to check out the local store and what did I find…

The Prime-Line P 7505 anilox roller worked great!

Prime-Line P 7505 Screen Rolling Tool - I'm not a professional, have never tried it so I've read a lot of reviews so I'm surprised by the negative reviews and comments here. This tool fits perfectly into my screen's narrow reset groove that the dog pushed out when trying to get in the house. I usually leave the screen pressed against the other panel of my double sliding door, but this time I forgot and was surprised to see a dog running around the house until I realized I had forgotten the…
