and sometimes it worked fine, and the next day it stopped working.

I hooked this up to my Harbor Freight dust collector. With the first Long Ranger I had a problem with the receiver, sometimes worked fine and the next day it stopped working. Device on my doorstep (which was personally programmed and tested by a service manager). The device now works well for my dust extraction and has not caused me any more problems. I would deduct a star for a problem with my first device. but a quick response and replacement by the PSI team got me back a star in my book. I…

Worked great for a year

Worked great for about a year and then expired. Professional carpenter. Use it to start the 2hp grizzly dust collector. Even goes through the wall. About two months before it stopped working, I noticed that I had pressed the ON button two or three times before it would turn on. . Nothing last week. Changed batteries, still nothing. Based on the troubleshooting I'm pretty sure the remote is sending a signal. But I don't think the receiver does anything with that signal (like starting DC). The…

Another Long Ranger died prematurely

Unfortunately due to the short shelf life of this product in the craft store I have to add one star to the many reviews. I just ordered another one as I can't find any other remote control product that can handle the dust collector current. The Grizzly/Shop Fox version seemed to have the same problem. If you need one of these you probably just need to think of it as a limited life product rather than buying ink for your printer it will cost you every year or two. EDIT: 6/17 I feel like I need…

A great addition to any workshop!

I've been a carpenter all my life and I've developed into a dream workshop. I have a dust collector and air compressor in another room to deaden the noise. This is my second remote control from this manufacturer. I bought my first in 2006 and it has become a staple in my back pocket. It has worked flawlessly so far. The problem wasn't with the remote switches, it was that my dust collector motor needed repairs. When the motor was switched on, the reset on the main controller was constantly…

Great addition to my dust collection system

This is the perfect remote control solution for my 2 HP Central Machinery (Port Freight) dust collection system. My system is connected to all my power tools. I just clip the remote to my belt when I'm in my local carpentry shop. No matter where I am in my shop, just press the "ON" button on the remote control to turn on the dust box. (And of course I can turn it off by pressing the "OFF" button.) I've never had a case where the remote wouldn't start or stop the dust collector. It can easily…
