Toyota 94 pickup for alternators and generators

Great for my 94 Toyota pickup. As mentioned, it doesn't come with an internal rubber boot, but you can reuse the old one by pulling it out of the socket and inserting it into the new socket.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Expensive

Only works in clean, dry applications.

Plug OK, cable OK. The package does not include small rubber grommets to seal each wire to the shell, or an insert to seal the connector shell to the mating connector.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

This is a good plug that you can take apart and use as a replacement for.

This is the perfect "bare" connector, however it is important to note that there are no standard single wire seals or a seal cover that goes inwards. This is a good connector that you can disassemble and use as a replacement for an existing connector as long as you can disassemble the existing one and use the grommets and the original rubber covered wires.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are nuances

Looks like OEM hardware

Works well but wires will need splicing or soldering to replace existing connector. I ended up just buying the outer case from Toyota and inserting three contact pins into the ends of the existing wiring. But this product looks just like the OEM design and I think the pins can be removed if you have the right termination tool - then you can snap the existing connector ends into the outer case. and avoid splicing

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not reliable

Problem solved with my alternator charging system

The wiring harness in my 2004 Tacoma 3.4 deteriorated over time resulting in the "exciter" wire no longer powering my alternator, which caused my charging system to fail while driving on the freeway Night in the mountains, 50 miles from anywhere, no cell phone reception. It was 29Β°F outside and I managed to hobble back to my cabin with the LED headlight and stick it out the window. I ordered this after troubleshooting and found the alternator wasn't the problem, hooked it up to the factory…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
