Excellent rear view camera with easy installation

I ordered this system to get a better view of the motorcycle trailer behind my Honda Element. I assumed it would be on all the time and the main purpose was to keep the bike safe during transport and to make it easier for me to secure it with a trailer, which I tried without a camera. The hardest part of the installation. Find a way to route the cables. I have a cigarette lighter socket on the back which makes it easier to find power. The flickering that others have mentioned is very easy to…

Great product, the best in automotive electronics

I bought this item to use in my own car but at home I need to mount it on the drive deck. I just started driving this car and I can't see anything from behind. It was easy to install, I just had to drill a hole behind the car sign. I routed the wires under the carpet in the trunklid, zip-tied them to the lid's support, stretched them through the trunk and under the carpet trim on the door. It took about 40 minutes to finish. The camera is adjustable and offers a good field of view. Markers are…

Easy installation. If you know what you're doing.

I installed it on the cab of a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad. The instructions are very simple and as I have some automotive knowledge I was able to connect this device with little to no problems. The mount that comes with the kit seems a little flimsy. Haven't tested the mount in rough road conditions yet, but it looks like it will hold up. The bundled video cable had an extra red wire about half an inch long sticking out at each end near the connectors. No idea what they were for but I didn't…

Good packaging in general

Good packaging overall. For the price I think it's a pretty good product. I just installed this on my mom's 2013 Ford Cmax. Installation was easy (took 2 hours). It requires minimal technical knowledge. Anyone who knows their way around the wrench on cars and can splice wires should be able to handle it. The instructions are a little lacking, but were easy to understand. The camera mount works well and looks pretty neat bolted to the license plate. I routed the wires into the tailgate through a

Pyle? Or is it "bunch " as in "--shit "?

Boy does this thing live up to its name (but they managed to misspell "a Bunch", like "β€”shit". Complaint 1) Instructions suck . I mean very bad. You can watch a Pyle video on YouTube but it won't help much. I had to spend a few hours on YouTube to find out, and I have two mechanical engineering degrees. If you're expecting quick and easy installation, forget it. If you're not comfortable removing the car's upholstery, drilling holes in it, or looking for it with a voltmeter, forget it…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Expensive

OK; It's a great backup camera and surveillance system for almost any car. And yes, as others have said, the schematics/instructions are useless, hence the 4 star rating. I did the install myself on a 2008 Ford Fusion for my son - it took us about 3.5 hours. Here are some very helpful tips if you are planning to do it yourself: 1. The real rear view camera should be installed right side up. Which way are you asking? The camera adjustment screws must face down.2. The video cable (yellow RCA…
