I wasn't too concerned about a quick change on the road but I need to remove the front wheel to transport the bike in my van. So far I've only replaced the front axle, but everything is fine. Suggest you measure carefully before starting. I chose to use OEM bearing cones and nuts to ensure I had the same clearance. The thread came up to the original without any problems. I'm glad my kids have bikes with quick releases. This makes family travel a lot easier than fiddling with wrenches at both ends! I would give this 4.5 stars. I don't have an exotic bike. This is a 1998 Huffy MTB with 24" wheels that I found abandoned on my property when I bought the house. Most likely, the Chinese Walmart is designed specifically for the child. The cones that come with them are too big for the hub, so I had to use the originals.
