Poor handling, leaks right away

Was excited to see I could get a new carburetor for my XR50 for less than the price of a rebuild kit. I knew there would be problems if one of the bolts was not screwed into the intake carburetor. I was able to get it working cautiously with some sort of anti-seize compound, but felt like it was cutting new threads. At first I was able to start the bike, although it worked very hard. Shut down and fuel flowed freely from the overflow pipe as per other posts here. That sucks and I'll be back…

Runs great at idle, runs like crap!

We have had our CRF50 for a number of years now. I clean the carburetor and tune it every year. So I think I know what I'm doing. Considering the current carburetor is 13 years old, I decided to give this carburetor a try as one of the stock carburetor jets is tiny and dented making it difficult to clean and replace. I installed this carburetor, it fits well. The bike started immediately and idled very smoothly. Probably the best thing I've seen on this bike. I hope we got crushed riding it…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Safety

Matches my son's cane 04 crf50 perfectly. Starts on the first hit, no matter how cold/hot it is. The suction is not needed so I explained to my son that this is not normal but he loves the first kick start. Stock carburetors are prone to clogged pilot jets that cannot be removed. The stock carburettor could not be brought to idle. Ordered this one from CLONE and installed it and now it works perfectly! Perfect balance with standard exhaust. UPDATE: 2.17.19 Still works perfectly and starts first

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Plug and play good for the fuel system

Bought this for my 1974 honda z50 after it had sat for a number of years and the original carburettor's non-removable pilot jet became clogged. After two unsuccessful attempts to clean it, I decided it was worth $13. It started right away, I put it in neutral, the bike ran fine. Although the carburetor is a bit cheaper than the OEM, I haven't had any performance complaints so far. The only issue I had was the length of the throttle cable, but I secured it with a zip tie between the grommet and…

I have a 2008 Honda CRF50. I did .

I have a 2008 Honda CRF50. I made the mistake of leaving the bike for over four years without draining the gas. As you understand, the fuel supply system (carburetor and tap) was destroyed. The pilot jet is blocked and cannot be removed, so you will have to buy a new carburetor. The main jet can be removed and cleaned, but the auxiliary (idle) jet cannot. Carbon came in a few days. It is a perfect match for the stock header and air filter. No leaks or mods required. The OEM part was $151 at a…

I just had to swap the main jets between the carburetors

I bought this for my 2003 xr50. I was able to use the original slider and needle assembly. I simply pulled out the slide and needle assembly that came with this carb and set it aside. First I installed a new carburetor without changing anything. The bike started quickly, the idle was adjusted without problems. I think the air/fuel screw is about 1.5 turns back. I took it for a test ride and it squirted quite a bit at full throttle. It turned out that he works very richly. I changed the main…

Terrible flows after 3 hours of use, I do not recommend it.

I do not recommend this carburetor. I bought it on October 8th, recorded it on October 10th and installed it on October 11th. Yes, it fits the 2005 Honda CRF50 perfectly and fits great. After installation, the motorcycle ran normally for a total of 2 hours. The fuel then began to leak horribly, from the intake port and out the drain hose. I opened it up and found that the plastic tab on the float that holds the float pin is very very flimsy and bends very easily. This means it doesn't apply…
