Rösle Stainless Steel Cheese 11 Inch Review

VERY well made. Most things from Germany! When slicing mozzarella cheese - - the grooves in the black plastic base are filled with cheese. But it's very petty. For my Capri salad (sp) I used small Roma tomatoes. And he cut them very nicely. Rinse and put in the dishwasher. It came out nice and clean.

I tried it on a fresh hard tomato. All he did was crush the tomato between the two halves of the device until the cutter was almost at the base of the device. Then he cut the tomato. I even tried "rocking" the steel part of the device a bit hoping the blades would start cutting, but it didn't work.

Rösle design quality products and this tomato cutter works great. So far I've had no trouble slicing 1/4 inch slices of ripe or green tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. I wash and dry by hand and use a toothbrush to clean the jagged teeth when needed. Keep blades clean, dry and properly stored blades stay sharp.

I'm sorry, I (my husband) have tried using this cut for so many fruits/vegetables and it just doesn't work! The blades are very, very sharp and very close together so you'd think it would slice and dice, but it doesn't pinch at all. I had to return it but I always thought I would find something to use. Maybe cheese?

I read some negative reviews about this slicer and decided to try it anyway and I'm glad I did. I used to have wire cutters and they always broke. It makes me crazy. This one will cut through many things. Think of it like a serrated knife. If you use this sawing motion it works fine. I have sliced olives and strawberries and it works amazing. What I really like is that it doesn't break down on something as simple as mushrooms.

I was looking for a food slicer that could cut both mushrooms and eggs etc. The wires are unreliable and I used a plastic cutter with metal blades.
