Decent fit and functionality

Decent fit and functionality, requires some persuasion to shape the frame but seems to work well when properly installed

Worked great on parts

K10 Pickup 1986 Frame cracked by stock steering gear over the years. I welded this thing in the shop and it should hold up just fine - nice and strong!

  • Dope πŸ”₯

Great Product - Power Steering

Love that someone is making these struts! I had to cut off an ear as the bumper mount is bolted to the frame. You can see it in the photos. I also had to drill a hole for attaching the brake lines to the inside of the frame. I recommend that you clamp the center of the bracket all the way into the frame and then weld it on. Otherwise your steering gear will not fit.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

You'll need a welder and maybe a little skill!

In theory these 2 parts fit together and are welded to the outside and underside of the frame where the gearbox is mounted. I speak theory because mine didn't line up at all, but that's how I figured out the extent of the damage to my poor mangled frame. A few welds are skipped on both panels, and the lower outer edge of the frame gets a solid bead. After installation, the steering wheel became more ribbed, and the backlash almost disappeared. Happy with purchase and price.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • No instructions

Put a 78 GMC 1500 2wd in the frame

Works good for my 78 GMC 1500. Frame, not outside This gives significantly more support and no worries about an out of alignment steering gear make and also prevents future cracks. The bolt holes were not compatible and I had to redrill two of them as they were too small for my steering gear bolts. Overall a good product and will assist the steering gear. Attached is a photo before welding.

Frame Bracket Kit Best Steering System

Good kit good quality. It didn't quite fit the side mount on my 1984 K5 Blazer. fit. You will also need coarse 8 7/16" nuts and washers (these will not be needed later) to use with the factory steering gear bolts to hold the side plate in place. This is necessary as the bracket may be fits to the frame leaves a gap until you snap it together then skip the welding. Worked great and my tear was at least 6" and it's all fixed now. TIP: Weld the crossbars at the bottom where they intersect with the
