I was very surprised when this item arrived and I was told that it is made of very high quality materials and decent quality. It's actually a lot better than what the picture does it justice. I installed mine in a hand forged copper sink less than 1/8th of the way through and it worked really well. It will also attach to a much thicker sink like porcelain. This is a very good product. I bought a Kohler matte black faucet and drain set. I decided to keep the faucet because it worked great and fit in my bathroom, but the drain was a problem. The Kohler drain assembly had more plastic parts and leaked a little no matter how tight I tightened it. This KES ship drain is made from 100% non-magnetic (non-ferrous) materials. I noticed someone saying it was steel. Yes. They are all made up of some brass parts (nuts/lock rings) and type 304 stainless steel for the pipes as advertised, which is definitely steel and will not rust the last time I checked. My car exhaust is 304 stainless steel and has stood up to 5 years in the salty New Jersey winter puddles. The tube wall thickness is definitely thinner, so please don't use wrenches or pliers…
