    I measured the current consumption as follows: 0.8 µA in standby mode, 40 mA at normal volume Alarm clock, 130mA at ultra-loud alarm volume.     So loud and reliable

    This thing is really loud! I keep it quiet and it's still loud. My ears are ringing for an hour after hearing it. Works reliably. I placed it next to my keg which is hooked up to a water dispenser. I use it to fill liter jugs but sometimes I walk away while it's filling and forget about it. This alarm clock quickly reminded me of that! I find it too loud even at low frequencies so I either put it in a plastic bag or take the speaker myself.     Simple, effective, great idea!

    We live in an old (but cozy) Comfort caravan, built in 77. I've slowly renovated it - solar, plumbing/electrical etc. Haven't bothered to replace the toilet line yet (photo) - it has a slow leak or two with the valve on. Almost attached on the exit side with a few coats of PVC glue, the previous owner taped the entry side with teflon tape.     I bought three of these after discovering a leak under the kitchen sink that completely ruined the cabinet. One for the kitchen and one for each bathroom. I'll probably buy a fourth for the sink.     Best reason to buy home sensors and alarms

    Best reason to buy: It uses inexpensive AAA batteries. Alternatively, 9V batteries are used, which are very expensive. The alarm is good and loud, the sensor is very sensitive and does what it is supposed to do with two errors. Two caveats: 1) the cable from the detector to the sensor is VERY short - 6-8 inches - making it difficult to use, and 2) the double-sided adhesive pad sticks instantly and permanently with great force.     I've tried many different water detectors over the years and this is by far my favorite.
