Ordered as a replacement whilst my American starter motor was being repaired. It's still installed and working. The repaired launcher is now a backup.

Stuck in the lake with the family on board because of this junk. Only worked well once then stopped working and had bad experience on the lake. When I asked the seller to help pay for the installation, they refused. DO NOT BUY THIS

Starter received looks new. They fitted my boat perfectly and the boat started right away. Saved me a ton of money from buying elsewhere. It was not yet possible to launch the boat to operate it for any length of time. I just tested it on my driveway for about 10 minutes. So far, so good. Happy at the moment

**Change** Finally managed to contact the manufacturer. We got our money back and ordered a new one. It would be 5 stars if I could contact the manufacturer for a replacement. Our starter stopped working after 6 months. Called Amazon and got absolutely no help. The contact details of the manufacturer could not be found. If someone can provide me with this, I'll be happy to correct my rating.

This starter motor worked great on my '98 Mercruiser 3.0L for about 2 months before experiencing problems would have. I actually had to be towed off the lake the first time I had an issue with it because it wasn't turning my engine's flywheel. After returning to my house on the boat, I found that the starter motor had run out of power and at certain points was unable to crank the engine against the normal compression generated in the engine.
