I recently purchased this tube adapter after borrowing an X-Port adapter. Saris makes the best product. Both were safe, but the Saris Bike Beam top tube adapter makes it easy to safely and securely mount the adapter in an alternative way that allows extra clearance for my bike. These units, like the Tyger and Venzo, tend to be expensive in my opinion. However, if you are traveling with several bikes, Tyger or SARIS are very durable. I have (3) SARIS as I traded the Venzo for another SARIS before going on holiday with (4) bikes in the back of our car. I can say that this product serves its purpose, but I have some serious complaints about the design of the product.1. It's too easy to accidentally press the hook release button when it's on the bike rack. Although unlikely to be fully released, I still think it's poor design.2.
