I tend to worry about my chickens in my backyard

I bought this sand with some apprehension because I didn't know how to use it and how much to give to the chickens. First I mixed it with their grain feed and they ate the feed leaving most of the sand behind. It told me that they could tell the difference. I read about chickens and sand and learned that they have excellent eyesight and can tell sand from grain. Now I just sprinkle sand on the bottom (mostly fine dirt, almost no small pebbles. When they need sand, they come where I sprinkled it

Use in domestic soil

Best offer! Got this after seeing it highly recommended as one of the ingredients in a number of homemade potting soil recipes. A lot of people on my Facebook host groups, both home gardeners and nursery owners, make their own, and I've seen the mention of crushed granite grower seed as a "must do" all along, especially when growing perennials. Quartzite for seed grits, granite for grits compared to Manna Pro

I ordered a bag of grits and a bag of grits, it's interesting to compare the grits to each other and to Manna Pro grits. At first glance, the contents of Scratch and Peck Grower and Chicken Groats differ in that the Grower appears to be an all-white quartzite, while the Chicken appears to be more of a brownish-pink granite. I'm certainly not a geologist, but the difference is worth noting. The chicken has a finer powder at the bottom of the bag (not a problem for me). These are for custom…

Good size for a light duck

Just started giving this to my duck but she definitely dived with pleasure. Bentham ducks can choke on the size of the sand, which is designed for large birds (mine is a Rufus duck, under 1.5 pounds, fully grown). This grit is right for him and seems like a good consistency to get his job done when sanding. cooks food for him. Time will tell how well he continues to digest food, but he's been eating it for a few days and so far so well. Since he's a drake (male duck), he shouldn't have all the…
