I do not advise buying this, it does not meet the stated standards.

After 2 years, it began to crumble. I checked for bad sectors and was horrified - more than 150 unrecoverable sectors. I drove Victoria away and new bad sectors appeared all the time. that this model is extremely unsuccessful and many have lost their data because of this disk. I have experience in recovering HDD using Victoria and the terminal, but this disk has degraded before my eyes - the sectors have increased all the time. I bought a new -WD disk, but I won’t take Seagat products anymore…

Pros
  • speed
Cons
  • very unreliable and not durable model

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

Aida64 model: ST2022DM001-1CH164. Cyclic noise when disks are idle, I'm used to it. Mode of use 24/7. Stands in the case, without forced cooling. It has a system and torrents (for torrents, the upload / download is not intensive). The observed temperature is about 36 degrees (according to Aide64). I was satisfied with the purchase for 3 years, i. E. guarantee period. And now the rally of the entire disk at once is determined by the BIOS, but is not readable by any system. Make backups.

Pros
  • Quiet, doesn't get hot
Cons
  • service life <= warranty period

Total disappointment, the product is terrible.

The ways of business are inscrutable. I was completely satisfied with this screw, until it suddenly began to disappear from the system. At the same time, SMART shows that everything is fine, not a single error. The screw may fall off after five minutes of operation, or it may work for several hours. Actually, these few hours helped me transfer one and a half terabytes of rare music to other media. After that, the screw began to fall off more and more often, the computer stopped loading with it…

Pros
  • Quiet. While working, it seemed that a fast and reliable hard drive.
Cons
  • He died exactly three years after the purchase.

The quality does not meet expectations, I will not buy any more.

Purchased December 2022, died January 2022 Worked as file storage. The system was not on it. At the end of the summer of 2022, several c5 and c6 errors appeared, but their number did not increase until January 2022. (checked almost every day) He died almost suddenly. Watched the series. The series ended, I took a break for lunch, I turn on another series. The film stutters and slows down. And then the player writes the file is not found. The HDD has disappeared from the system. I reboot a…

Pros
  • In his death throes, he managed to copy some of the files.
Cons
  • Guaranteed quick death after the end of the warranty period

A little disappointed, a bad purchase.

I chose between this model and HDD 2022 Gb Western Digital (WD20EARX). At the time of purchase, WD was nowhere to be found. Bought Seagate. Firmware CHH4 (in my opinion). Made in Thailand. At first everything was fine, the screw worked properly, did not heat up, practically did not make any sounds during operation. After 10 days, hemorrhoids began. At first, all the files on this screw began to open slowly, then when a word document was opened, it began to hang in general. And then completely…

Pros
  • Quiet, fast, not heated, above 35 degrees did not rise.
Cons
  • Died after 10 days. You buy like a pig in a poke. Because many have similar troubles as in my case.

Disappointed with the purchase, useless products.

And such a story! About two years ago, an external drive with a Baracuda of 1 Tv on board began to act up. I pulled information out of it (I managed to) and decided to buy myself a NAS storage. The choice fell on Lacie Space MAX. Connected it as RAID 1 and decided that now everything will be OK! After a year of use, one of the disks flew out. I opened the box and found two BARACUDA Seagate ST2022DM001 disks in it. I bought exactly the same one as a replacement, connected it, and voila…

Pros
  • would have written if
Cons
  • 3 discs flew in 2 years!

The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

It has been successfully working for more than 2 years (~7800 hours of Power-On Time count) as an additional disk to SSD (file storage). All SMART indicators are in excellent condition. I did not change the firmware, the number of parking lots (Load / Unload Cycle Count) reached ~ 52022. The noise is practically not noticeable, the temperature is normal. Performance is great. Judging by the characteristics, these drives are clearly NOT designed for 24/7 operation, there are other models for…

Pros
  • High performance Low cost
Cons
  • Relatively high power consumption Possible frequent head parking Not designed for 24/7 operation

Worst product for the money, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Seagate deteriorated just terribly! Very high marriage rate. We replaced all these disks in the customer's serviced video surveillance systems with hard disks from other manufacturers. 50 pieces in less than 2 months - and this, apparently, is not the limit! The discs died exactly when the manufacturer's warranty ended. And along with death, they took with them more than 100 TB of video recordings! Once - and no. Guys! Do not take Seagate junk, otherwise you will regret it bitterly.

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • There are many of them, starting with a decrease in read / write speed and ending with 99% of unexpected deaths.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

At once I will make a reservation that my experience of use of hards is limited only above designated by Seagate firm. At one time, disks for 120 and 160 Gig, respectively, were bought at first (both, by the way, have been working without failures and breakdowns for more than 6 years :)), then a 250 Gig disk was bought (also still fully operational), and now about six months ago, deciding not to interrupt the tradition, this copy was bought. It works so far without failures, does not make much…

Pros
  • 1- Reliability 2- Price (I am writing a review only now, although more than six months have passed since the purchase, since I was going to take exactly the same Hard for a media player. And when browsing the catalogs, I was pleasantly surprised that the price for it had dropped from 4200 (First disc) to 3000.) 3-Almost silent operation 4-The absence of extraneous vibrations and the like (clicks, twitches of heads, etc.) 5-Trust in the brand (See comment)
Cons
  • Perhaps the only drawback that can be identified is a barely perceptible noise and a slight increase in temperature by 4-5 degrees (although this is not a drawback at all) Celsius at high loads (simultaneous copying and watching video from one HD), but considering that the computer has For me, the speed of the coolers is automatically regulated by a special program, it is almost imperceptible .

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

I bought 2 screws (September 2022) to make a mirror, as another disk died earlier. Made a raid on the operating system. The raid constantly deteriorated when the computer hung. Then one disk from the raid disappeared and a new one appeared (why does the operating system not see the serial number of the disk in the raid?). Although SMART in the program showed that everything is in order with the disk. After the second disappearance in the BIOS, it showed that there is 39GB on one disk (September

Pros
  • Large volume. The other screws (these) are working flawlessly so far.
Cons
  • 1 out of 2 died within a year. Has fallen in price for a year approximately from 3600 rbl. up to 2900 rub.

Average product, you can do better.

It is important to understand that the hard drive is always the weakest point of any computer, as a rule, it fails more often and faster than other components, so regular backup of important data should never be neglected! Buying this model, as well as its analogues from competitors, can resemble a lottery: for some, the product will work perfectly for the entire warranty period and much longer, and for some it will not “start up” being plugged into the system unit immediately from the store.…

Pros
  • 2TB for little money
Cons
  • As with any hard drive, especially from the budget category, all sorts of troubles are possible up to a complete failure at the most unexpected moment.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bad product, not worth the money.

Seagate after 7200.9 is not worth taking - when this "barracuda" died, I bought WD Black (almost for the same money) and it has been living for more than 3 years, and the previously purchased green - more than 5 years. In the past Seagate (7200.7, U9) was more reliable than WD, unfortunately this is a thing of the past. If you care about your data, do not buy these discs, and if you have them, store your documents and photos with cats in an online storage or on discs not of this office.

Pros
  • + high speed (200mbs on average) + low price at the time of purchase (2022)
Cons
  • - an extremely unreliable series, it is actually guaranteed to die after the end of the warranty (or even before it, I died after a year and 8 months) - has an English character, dying suddenly and irrevocably (after the attack, the disk went into a deep coma, hanging the system after loading and the first access to it, if it was connected). I was lucky, somewhere around 60% of the data I saved, including critical documents, but most part with the data forever - The GrenadaBP platform is almost unrepairable, + 300% to the cost of extracting data - Constant clicks due to the curve of the head parking

The quality is so-so, the price does not match the quality.

I do not recommend buying these screws. Of the 7 available copies, two have already fallen off, 1 worked for a year and a half, crumbled into troubles and was replaced under warranty (with a screw from another manufacturer at my request), the second a little more than 2 years and also fell off. Almost all of the data has been leaked. the screw was no longer under warranty - had to be thrown out. I checked the remaining 5 pieces of the same st2022dm001 - more than 1000 green sectors and 2-3…

Pros
  • Quiet, fast, doesn't get too hot
Cons
  • not reliable, and that says it all.

What you need, a cool purchase, I advise you.

Stood in QNAP. Worked for three years without a break - downloaded, distributed, was a file cleaner, etc. The server began to give an error and go to the astral plane. Self-diagnosis gave an error - bad blocks. It was lucky that at the time of purchase the warranty was 5 years. I changed it from the seller to a new one, because. It is pointless to take money - now everything is twice as expensive. The new one was only guaranteed for 2 years.

Pros
  • Worked and worked for almost 3 years.
Cons
  • Stopped working after 3 years.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

There are already two Seagate screws on my PC! The first 1.5Tb has been standing for about five years. The second one - 2TB, costs three and a half years. The screws still work without problems and complaints. Glory to Seagate! Advice to those guys who write about dead screws: "Buy yourself a normal power supply so that the system has enough energy with a margin, and not back to back. Install an additional fan to blow over the HDD. And it is also desirable a UPS to prevent emergency shutdown…

Pros
  • Fast, quiet, stable high speed reading and writing, even with multiple tasks running (torrent, video, browser, photo viewing).
Cons
  • The price is slightly above average, but you can pay a little more for the quality.

Good and quality product, but there are flaws.

The vibration and noise of the heads is no more than other Seagate drives. case temperature is tactilely slightly colder than ST31000340AS. Cons
  • not detected

Never buy this product.

He died, like his older brother at 3 TB (he worked for two years) - suddenly and quickly. Barely managed to pull out the data on 1 TB. Everything was fine in the smart in the morning, in all respects, after the Win ate, a reboot was required, after the reboot it clicked hard and the smart showed 1000 + - dead sectors. Immediately began to copy to a healthy hard, copied, lucky. After the next reboot, it did not start up in the BIOS either. Seagate was a big disappointment to me. But at one time…

Pros
  • Cold, fast.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

I don’t know about others, but my model (1CH164) comes in at least two versions: two-pancake and three-pancake. Heads, respectively 4 or 6. You can distinguish by the depth of the recess on the lid: if 0.5 cm or a little more, then two pancakes, if less, then three. Somewhere a long time ago I read that it was the three pancakes that fell in the first years of work. I, fortunately, got caught with two pancakes. I bought it in the summer of 2022, today the flight is normal, the operating time is

Pros
  • 1. Price/volume ratio at the time of purchase. 2. Noise level. I don't hear it at all when I'm at work. 3. Speed of work. Inferior to SSD, of course, but for a regular HDD, the speeds are good.
Cons
  • 1. APM. Yes, yes, this nasty useless technology was rattling my brains with head parking every 2-3 minutes for a whole week, until I added hdparm with it disabled in autoload. 2. The presence of several variants of the same model, which differ greatly in terms of reliability and service life, about this in the comments.

Just a terrible product, very upset.

At first I was very surprised by the silence and speed. I did not think that something like that could be squeezed out of the HDD. Then I noticed the clicks. Disabled the power saving feature. The problem is gone. But that was only the beginning. After 3 months, the file washer formed on it began to slow down and freeze, bads, remaps, etc. went. Then the hard one periodically began to fall off the system. At some point, it simply did not recognize itself in the BIOS. Bottom line…

Pros
  • Quiet and fast.
Cons
  • Large marriage rate. Constant clicks autoparking heads.
