The light is pretty good. Battery life is excellent

The light is pretty good. The battery life is excellent. However, the switch is defective, so after less than a year the light hardly works anymore.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Not reliable

Good light for electrical equipment

This lantern gives off lots of light and is easy to attach. What is difficult is removing the back of the battery compartment. It's held in place with eight ridiculously small Phillips screws.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Constant LED on interior light

I fitted this to my 1999 Mastercraft bimini. It really helps on those days when you get out of the water just after dark. The button works easily and holds up well even when the boat is towed. The light output is excellent. Solid product on all sides.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Functionality

Boat and Sailing LED Strips

Everything is fine. Compared to other Puck lights I use, this product is mediocre. On the plus side there is a nice diffused light but not particularly bright. Although the product is well made. On the bottom you need to remove 8 small screws to insert/replace the batteries. I use rechargeable ones so I have to do this more often than when I use alkaline ones.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

Still on the Move.: Boating

Third year in the marine environment. It hangs under a bimini on one of the poles on a boat in a salt water marine environment. It's a dry place, but the salt eats up almost anything that gets in the air. It's a good light, not one that's going to brighten the world, but enough to keep you moving and seeing where you're going when it's dark. I use it when arriving or leaving at night to keep trips and falls to a minimum.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Achievement
Cons
  • Modern

I bought two and unfortunately despite the good concept the company put a totally inefficient on/off switch in the product. I couldn't get both to work. Also, you need to unscrew some small screws on the back to change the batteries. This is a very labor intensive process. I do not recommend spending money on this product.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Little maintainability

Looked great when product was received

Looked great when product was received. The built-in batteries and the switch are almost useless. It's a small rubber button in the body that probably won't turn on or off unless you press it really hard. Sometimes you have to do this multiple times. Installed under a brand new bimini top and it wasn't raining very heavily. The device somehow filled with water and got stuck in the on state due to an apparent short circuit of the switch. It wasn't waterproof at all. Had to take out the batteries

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Upgradeable

I see the light - now!

I have ordered these two lights to be attached to my yacht's bimini struts to provide cockpit lighting at night after a late sailing. I'm giving them a 4 because I don't know how long they will last. They were a little tricky to open with a very small Phillips screwdriver as some of the screws were over tightened and required careful handling. Once that was done and the batteries installed, I closed the hatches, made sure the seals were in place, and carried them back to the boat. They provideโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Universal LED lighting

I don't have a canopy boat. Actually, I don't have a boat at all. I was looking for a battery powered LED light to illuminate the license plate on my Town Car's windshield and this product fitted the bill. This works very well for my purposes. I'm sure it will work well for its intended purpose, as well as many other uses that require a self contained light source. This product is not designed to illuminate a large reading area. It's designed to give you enough light to see what you're doingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Fair
