Bad Level - Bait and Switch

Four issues with SeaSense mounts as shown in the pictures alongside the Smith mount: 1) Narrow base - not even wide enough to fit a 1/2 inch washer . 2) Thin steel - less than 1/8 inch Smith clamp as measured with my caliper. 3) No crimping to reinforce the bracket at the bend. 4) Not as shown on the Revain page. I sent them back.

Perfect but not finished

It was exactly what I expected. Still pretty rough so if I was expecting to get them out and bang on the trailer I'd be disappointed. I intended to paint them so I sanded them and painted into the finished product. There were some rough edges and ridges that needed to be knocked down. Exactly what I wanted but could have been worn and done right away if makeup hadn't been a factor.

Pros
  • Boat Trailer Accessory
Cons
  • Crumpled

The quality of the metal is generally decent with no sharp burrs.

The quality of the metal is generally decent, with no sharp burrs and well rounded. Although it is very difficult to attach it to a boat with a bracket removed. Also if the bolt and roller are inserted from above to try to connect the brackets. This still makes mounting the bracket difficult. Next time we'll use a solid splint instead of a split one.

Worst galvanizing job I've seen

These brackets are more than capable of supporting the keel roller - no problem here. I have a problem with looks. By far the worst job I've ever seen electroplating a piece of metal! OMG, runs, blobs and big splotches. I have no idea how someone could do such a bad job. I ended up just sanding them down and then painting them to match my caravan. I probably should have sent them back but it would have cost me almost the same and there is no guarantee the new set will be any better. I would…

Pros
  • Guides and rollers
Cons
  • Minor problems
